Just watched two horrible injuries in the bumper at Clonmel. They occurred close to each other, tho on different circuits; co-incidence?
Horrible was the word. When a horse falls and breaks its neck, its bad enough to watch. But I find it particularly grim to watch a horse try to keep going when the leg is gone.
Watching on tv, which is no place to judge, conditions looked very rough. Neither soft enough to kick out of the way or firm enough to not leave a lot of cut up turf….like I said, it just looked a little rough, but it may not have ridden like that.
