Anyone heard anything about this one?
Won his bumper in Punchestown this time last year and was due to run in the Cheltenham Champion Bumper but missed it through injury I think. Wasn’t mentioned in the Willie Mullins stable tour in the RP.
November 19, 2013 at 12:54 #458979Mullins says “He’s a real chaser in the making but he’ll start off novice hurdling and it would appear he might be best suited in the staying division. He looks a good start.”
November 19, 2013 at 15:07 #459000Thanks for that Mark. Good to know all is well with him, was one of the favourites for the Champion Bumper at one stage.

Yes.
Spent a couple of days going through Mullins likely festival runners and it’s incredible the firepower he has.Within the next 6-8 weeks many of the prices will drop. I’m thinking Champagne Fever will end up in the Jewson.
November 20, 2013 at 18:20 #459134If I had to call it now I’d say Champagne Fever will go for the Arkle and Felix Yonger will go Jewson, but they’re both versatile regarding trip so they could go either way.
November 20, 2013 at 22:13 #459148Depends on Ricci’s other novice chasers. CF is also bred to stay further
December 20, 2013 at 14:07 #462403Entered in five maiden hurdles from 2m to 2m 6f next week.
December 23, 2013 at 14:57 #462777Entered in the first race at Leopardstown on Thursday, a 2m 2f maiden hurdle. Looks a penalty kick.
December 23, 2013 at 16:06 #462781Yeah. Looking forward to seeing CC run this season. Be nice if there were a true pace on for his debut
December 26, 2013 at 10:47 #462957Hopefully he’ll put on a show today. It’s been a long wait to see him again.
December 26, 2013 at 13:43 #462986Can only improve, i guess. Obvious now why such a low key start.
December 26, 2013 at 14:27 #462990Very underwhelming wasn’t it. Jumped very deliberately too but even so I would liked to have seen him be a bit more impressive than that.
December 26, 2013 at 14:34 #462991Jumped like a big chaser. Very disappointing in victory.
January 15, 2014 at 20:23 #465005Out tomorrow in a novice hurdle at Thurles. He’s stepping up to 2m 6f which should see him in a better light as he has plenty of stamina by the looks of his Leopardstown run. Hopefully he’ll jump better tomorrow because if he does he’ll make 6/4 look pretty big imo.
January 16, 2014 at 15:38 #465047Hardly a natural, is he ?
Work in progress and at the moment he’s unlikely to contest one of the conditions races at the festival, if he goes at all.
January 16, 2014 at 17:21 #465054Mullins earmarking Albert Bartlet
January 17, 2014 at 16:32 #465085Jumped the first two/three huge but he got better as the race went on. His main market rival Festive Felon ran no race so the form probably isn’t worth much but he was impressive all the same.
