Went with Lord Du Mesnil in the end, and took the 9’s.
Dingo Dollar at a huge 33’s will be bet in running if in the mix, obviously at slightly less than the 33’s.
Commodore is definitely getting bet. That 20’s is too big, and he’ll be definite EW Bet
Still reckon Notachance will run a big race too
Commodore EW 5pls
Lord Du Mesnil 9’sJanuary 14, 2023 at 01:07 #1630862Already on Notachance but added Nestor Park at 9/1
January 14, 2023 at 08:19 #1630873Alice Stevens is a top-class Point-to-Point jockey, Sandy Thomson has had some amazing bursts of form lately, and her 7lb claim over 3m5f in the Heavy and his ingenuity make an interesting combination at gigantic odds.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"January 14, 2023 at 08:56 #1630879I also think Volcano is in with a shout, and I also reckon Wouldubewell has a real chance here.

So don't run, just like the others always do
January 14, 2023 at 09:02 #1630882Plenty of these I like, so I’ll stay sentimental and convince myself it’s a good idea!
Lord Du Mesnil and Commodore have been weighed down by my stakes plenty of times over the years and have left me with egg on my face on more than one occasion.
That said the former looked more like his old self last time out (I thought the same after the Rowland Meyrick last year) and this is his prototype race and conditions.
The latter probably needs to drop a few more pounds to be competitive, however I can’t leave him alone at the prices. I’m convinced he’ll stay (safely ignore the National run)
January 14, 2023 at 10:25 #1630891Just a note on Dingo Dollar, he was taken out of last week’s Veteran Chase because the going was too soft.
Probably hack up now!
January 14, 2023 at 10:32 #1630894Decided just to be him Joe, just too big a price at around 40’s.
Main reason I was leaving him was that I didn’t want three in the race, but it’s a quiet Saturday for me, so just went with him.
Be kicking myself if he did it.
Commodore 20’s EW 5pls
Dingo Dollar 40’s EW 5pls
Lord Du Mesnil 9’sJanuary 14, 2023 at 13:12 #1630928No fortescue a disappointment and this Mullins thing looks a potential throw in however on form I’ve got to go iwilldoit , he should love this and if primed should go close , no surprise at bigger im with Bobby with Dingo , he has a ton of weight but the farther the better and he may plod into a place
January 14, 2023 at 14:09 #1630932Lord Du Mesnil ew 5 places
January 14, 2023 at 14:55 #1630957Nestor Park for me, good luck all. How many finishers will there be?
January 14, 2023 at 14:57 #1630958Not to many … I’ll go 6
January 14, 2023 at 15:10 #16309592 12-1 winners on the trot … I’ll retire now , thanks guys it’s been emotional
January 14, 2023 at 15:15 #1630961Wd HDLG, can’t believe the jockey had to actively pull him up after the finish line, if I was a horse at the end of that I think I’d be at a standstill within 2 strides after the pressure was off.

January 14, 2023 at 15:21 #1630963He,s a nice horse , hopefully they can keep him fit for the GN and go for the 100k bonus , doubt he”d get his ground though , great training by performance by Thomas
January 14, 2023 at 15:41 #1630966Nice work HDLG. Definitely one to consider for the National if he comes out of that sound.
