If the ground isn’t too much worse than good-to-soft, Jered moves well enough to be able to cope with it. I don’t believe for one second that he gave his true running behind Hardy Eustace at Punchestowns and remain fairly confident that the race simply came too soon after his reppearance. He had beaten Cork All Star incredibly easily the time before, in spite of having to concede 11lbs, and the pace of a Champion Hurdle should ensure his jumping holds together.

Whilst the best of his flat form was arguably on better ground, I also think Blue Bajan has a great each-way shout should conditions prove a little more testing.

I’ll be laying Binocular if the going is anything but good.

It might be wise to edit your remark about David Pipe, allpress11. Quickly.

    Don’t think so, its true.

Look at him put punters away today on the Morning Line. I never back his horses but other people must be so annoyed with him.

I hope Ruby stands up on Master Minded, Tatenen or Kauto and gives Tom Scudamore the wave like he did to Ruby and Denman at Kempton.

I’d suggest Brave Inca most of all, though I’d imagine messrs Nicholls and Pipe would also be somewhat pleased with the emphasis being placed on stamina.

(I doubt your Whiteoak would be too inconvenienced either, Moe) :)

19 Declared so far – I would imagine for a race like the CH, trainers would declare first thing so which five do we think haven’t been declared?

I start every race evaluation with what I consider to be a short list of horses from which I think the winner should come. There is obviously more to it than that and now the hard work of studying begins. It will probably be Tuesday when we know the state of the ground before a final decision is made. If pressed at the moment I see no reason why Celestial Halo should finish in front of Binocular. I expect Osana to be spot on but as a front runner he could again set it up for a hold up horse. Katchit you have to respect at Cheltenham.
    Mike.

I don’t disagree entirely, but last year Sizing Europe was banker material, in fact, he was the banker of the festival for a lot of people, and look what happened there..
