According to a report in today’s Daily Mail Rishi Persad is rejoining Channel 4 from next year. As has been suggested it really does appear as though they are going to dumb down the coverage
I don’t recall him being on C4 but I wouldn’t want to see him on it.
Rishi was briefly with Channel 4, as was Lydia Hislop, before both were poached by the BBC.
It’s beyond belief that Channel 4 now feel he would be some sort of asset despite his frequently criticised efforts and lightweight offerings on the BBC.
Channel 4’s coverage is going to look like a watered-down version of the BBC coverage, what with Clare and Rishi being reunited.
As it seems that most of the lightweights from Channel 4 are also going to be joining them, including Emms and Tarns, it seems like a real opportunity to add some gravitas and authority to the supporting cast behind Clare is going to be well and truly squandered.
John Parrott will be the next heavyweight signing to beef up the betting coverage at this rate…
