My sentiments exactly!
July 5, 2008 at 04:49 #171788I get tired of trainers telling us after a race that ":He will come on from the run"
What may I ask does that mean? If a horse is not trained and fit enough to win then he is using the track as a training ground. Aidan O’Brien does it all the time but nobody says a thing. Either a horse is fit to win or he should not be running. That is the rule I believe.Another line is "he need a couple of runs under his belt".Where ? A permit holder with one or two horses will not get away with such excuses.July 5, 2008 at 09:07 #171795This is not the first time Christian Williams has come out with the same weak excuse.
I remember after Fabulous Jet was held up in rear, pulling very hard, and never being put in the race he said exactly the same things about how he was trying to educate the horse and try and get it to relax. Not long after horse and jockey were put into the spotlight over the ride the horse came out under very different tactics (went from the front) and looked a much improved horse (for a different jockey may I add).
I wonder how Bamboozle will be ridden next time now it has been thrust into the spotlight?
