quote]What does that say .. fast Cheveley Park, or a very poor renewal of the Middle Park?
October 5, 2007 at 16:29 #118116Just been answering this very question by PM.
I’d like to look at all the times. I suspect it’s a bit of both but more a positive for the fillies than a negative for the colts. We’ll see.
October 5, 2007 at 19:28 #118145Natagora’s was by some little way the best time perfomance on the card. It comes out at 114 on my figures, a couple of pounds behind Listen’s 116 at Ascot on Saturday. Fleeting Spirit had recorded a 112 at Goodwood and a 113 at Doncaster so her 114 today was her best yet and showed she clearly stayed the trip.
There have to be doubts about Natagora staying a mile. There’s plenty of stamina on the dam’s side of her pedigree but she’s by a sprinter, albeit one by Sunday Silence, and she’s been campaigned at sprint distances and shows a lot of speed.
Mind you, I had Attraction down as a non-stayer, too.
