Setanta advertises no annual contract

the UK and €19.99 in ROI *No ContractSetanta have the worst customer service out of any company I’ve ever dealt with, a number of my friends signed up to the 1 month rolling contract offer and were on hold for upto 3 hours or had to make about 20 phone calls to actually be put on hold for 3 hours when trying to cancel.
There is an email address for customer services, but funnily enough you can’t cancel by email, you have to cancel on the phone, which probably costs another months viewing for the cost of the call, or you can cancel in writing.
You also now cannot cancel your direct debit with them as if you check your bank account the payment is not taken as a direct debit, I looked through my direct debits and it is not listed there, they simply take the payment every month, somehow, a lot of my friends simply cancelled the direct debit as they couldn’t get through for love nor money, but it appears Setanta have found a solution to stop this occurring..
They are supposed to reply to emails within 5 working days but have ignored my last 3 over the past 6 weeks, I could go on for ever about how sh*t their customer service is!

There’s a thread of approximately 15 pages on the Betfair forum with similar comments about Setanta’s awful customer service and I’ve experienced it myself.
About 4 months in to my 12 month contract, it was announced that the fee was going down to £9.99. So why did I have to carry on paying £15 until the end of the 12 months?
And then at the end of that period I phoned up to be put on the cheaper rate and they said that they would sort it out straight away – guess what amount has come out of my account in the first 2 months of my second year…

I’m sorry folks, but I’d imprison everybody who uses that term.
I use the word tongue in cheek, where i live we have many hunting types who use phrases like winkers, chelters and exes, my favourite being plumpers.
I have an account with Victor Chandler and they have a deal for subscribing to RUK. The deal is, if you have at least 10 bets with a minimum stake of £5 in a calendar month, they will credit your account with the subscripton fee by means of promo cash. Good deal in my book if you have at least 10 bets of £5 or more a month
£9.99 STG or €19.99 euro -I wish I could convert my sterling to euros at that rate.
After getting fed up with having my e-mails ignored I dropped a line to Simon Bazalgette complaining about the discrepancy in pricing and the poor customer service.
I have just received a mail from “customer servicesâ€
I have NTL and signed up for the Satant package, but i only get 3 of the 8 channells cause i am not in a Mdmn area i have had many emails to and fro with the worst customer service ever know to man i asked how can they can charge for a full price when only providing a qtr of the service the excuses i got are laughable i asked them to charge me less they said they could not as they still have to pay setanta i asked them to throw a few of the other channells you have to pay for they declined to take me up on this aswell, but this matter is not over yet watch this space….
