A thread for the grumps maybe
I suppose i am not looking forward to pushing my way from the back of the grandstand to try and see more than the back of some fat blokes neck

I am also not looking forward to Ted Walsh on the box (although ill be watching RUK now). I know hes knowledgable but the bloke has always irritated me
Thats not much though is it really?
Cant wait
February 14, 2008 at 10:23 #143028Ah Ted is Funny i like watching him suppose differnt strokes for different folks……..
it’s my 1st time going this year and could only get accomadtion in Bristol so no doubt the downside will be getting the train to and back…..
February 14, 2008 at 10:24 #143029Im not looking forward to that Irish female bookmaker that Big Mac always interviews. I dont know why but she winds me up the wrong way. Cant remember her name.
February 14, 2008 at 10:25 #143031Not looking forward to missing so much of it!
Work demands are such that it’s impossible for me to get time off. My holidays are fairly generous so I’m fairly lucky – but that week in March? No chance!
However, I’ll be able to get home early for at least Tuesday and Friday.
I hope to go to Cheltenham again one year. My last visit was seeing See You Then win his third Champion Hurdle; but to be honest, I’m worried I’d be let-down by the whole experience. People who have gone regularly tell me it’s a totally different event now.
Aye, nostalgia isn’t what it used to be!
February 14, 2008 at 10:29 #143033I’m not looking forward to the sand.
Because if all my AP bets go belly up some people on here will take great pleasure in telling me how big a plonker I am.
Then my only way out will to stick my head in the above, until such time they go away, which may be never

i know the one your talking about cant think of her name, think she is from Limerick
February 14, 2008 at 10:31 #143036I will be watching Cheltenham from the armchair, so the only thing I will be not looking forward to is running out of Grolsch

Other than that, I can’t think of a single thing that I’m not looking forward to. I guess I hate it when the racing is just about to start and you get a phonecall from the school to say that your son has fell and cracked his head open. Still, that last time that happened I thought the teachers looked after him very well until the racing had finished

I am only joking guys before you phone any social workers

February 14, 2008 at 10:32 #143037I think her name is Ella or something like that.
She has a catchphrase that she keeps saying (cant remember that either), I think its the catchphrase that gets to me.

Oh god yes. I cant stand her. Thinks the world of herself doesnt she?
February 14, 2008 at 10:37 #143042Ella Martin.
Annoying thing about cheltenham..Not having RUK and not being able to watch the final two races of every day.
February 14, 2008 at 10:40 #143044It’s Ellen Martin I think.
February 14, 2008 at 10:41 #143048Whats her catchprase, can anyone remember it??
She says it repeatedly and it drives me insane.

£9,99 a month to get Setanta, which includes Racing UK. No 12 month contract. Surely worth getting it just for the one month, then cancel it if you don’t like it after Cheltenham

Providing you have cable or digital that is.

February 14, 2008 at 10:41 #143050What I ‘am not looking forward too’, as it were, is what we have had to put up with for months, namely the hype that suggests the Cheltenham Festival is the be all and end all of the jumping season. Many other major events get devalued, being seen as ‘Cheltenham trials’.
Anyway……….., everyone up here knows that the Perth Festival is the centre of the ‘jumping season universe’!

Not a bad idea though actually, although for the rest of March it may distract me from some very important matters.

But less about your student nights out when you’re supposed to be studying
