Double Banded is the tip!
May 6, 2008 at 15:13 #161930Has the draw really any significance in a 2 m 2 1/2 f-race?

Sounds rediculous.
May 6, 2008 at 15:45 #161933Definitely at chester Parlo, and especially in a big ffield like the chester cup, and even more so if your horse isnt a front runner (or needs switching off), and even more so if the pace is slow as you will no doubt meet traffic probelms in the closing stages.
My namesake was drawn wide there two years ago and came late for fourth froma long way back , and it either gives you the choice of going wide for the whole way round or hanging back and hoping everything goes your way in front,
I may be wrong but think that Admiral had been drawn wide (It may have been the other way round he may have had the inside draw) a few years ago and made it over to get a front running position which he won from.
The draw at chester is a massive issue, and you have to bear it in mind heavily when looking at any horses chances there even at staying trips.
