“It’s incredible really”.
The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.

Blackbeard to conquer the World
June 22, 2024 at 14:43 #1699557That was a breathtaking performance.
June 22, 2024 at 14:51 #1699558Strange how the market did not identify that gulf in class
June 22, 2024 at 14:51 #1699559“Who is your choice out of these two?”
Bedtime Story, no question.
June 22, 2024 at 14:54 #1699562“1/4 Mike Cash out Fairy Godmother and back Bedtime Story”.
Nathan, it was 1.01.
June 22, 2024 at 14:54 #1699563Have to be with Bedtime Story out of the two without question – Ryan barely had to use hands and heels for her to win by 9½L….the way she travelled through the race I am pretty certain she would have done the same thing to that Albany field had she been in it and not Fairy Godmother.
Don’t forget that the boys also have Giselle (another Frankel filly) that Ryan rode when she was odds on to beat Bedtime Story at Leopardstown when they both made their debut and was only beaten 1¼L.
Seems like the Ballydoyle 2yr old fillies are a step ahead of their colt counterparts at the moment.
June 22, 2024 at 15:06 #1699566I believe she traded 1.01 over 2 furlongs out.
June 22, 2024 at 15:06 #1699567“Nathan, it was 1.01. ”
The cash out yes, but was Bedtime Story backed…

June 22, 2024 at 15:48 #1699586The sectionals for the last 3F for this race and the Albany are interesting:
Fairy Godmother 11.57s (3F-2F), 12.02s (2F-1F) & 12.28s (1F-Finish)
Bedtime Story 11.42s (3F-2F), 11.56s (2F-1F) & 12.32s (1F-Finish)Fairy Godmother’s efficiency rating was a grade B and her finsihing speed % was 100.80
Betime Story’s efficiency rating was a grade D and her finishing speed % was 104.10June 22, 2024 at 16:36 #1699605A daughter of frankel indeed
A passable impression of her sire that
June 22, 2024 at 16:39 #1699607It was only a smidge slower than the Jersey too and she probably could have found that smidge if she’d been asked.
June 22, 2024 at 17:04 #1699618For context on those times since they’ve been run on the same day
2023 Jersey Stakes 2.43 secs faster
2022 Jersey Stakes 1.41 secs faster
2021 Jersey Stakes 1.40 secs faster
2020 Jersey Stakes 1.68 secs faster
2019 Jersey Stakes 1.16 secs faster0.16 secs between them today and she was motoring at the end
June 22, 2024 at 17:14 #1699624LD73 doing a good impression of Angus Mcnee minus the dark blue jumper ;o)
June 22, 2024 at 17:35 #1699631Mike……how dare you (I am wearing a dark blue T-Shirt)
To be honest I tend not to go near sectionals thanks in big part to that particular numpty who practically wets himself if a horse runs a good time or records fast splits and seems to be luke warm on any that don’t.
With the way Fairy Gomother finished her race off and how Bedtime Story ran away from her field, I was kind of curious to see what they did comparatively over the last 3F and thanks to ATR website a lot of information was on there that really didn’t take much effort to pull up.
The fact that Ryan said his hardest job with Bedtime Story was pulling her up tells its own story.
