I have contacted Dave cormack15 regarding the site doing a preview this year and he agreed it would be a good idea.

I put forward to him to have a preview night on the Championship races this Sunday to cover the Arkle Champion Chase etc. Followed by a preview night of the handicaps the following Sunday next week and then have a overall preview night the Sunday before the festival covering every race.

Does anyone wish to host the Preview nights?

and any ideas would be welcomed.

Hi SK – just a general free-for-all in teh chat-room usually works out for something like this.

So we’ll we say 8pm Sunday in the chatroom of the site.

Would anyone be interested in a meet-up in a pub in Central London in the week before Cheltenham?

I know it was talked about a couple of years ago but not sure if it actually happened or not.

As I live in London I am open to the idea of meeting in a pub one evening in the week before Cheltenham, as long as it isn’t the Thursday evening as the London Racing Club hold their preview night then

Oh, it happened alright! Many of TRF’s finest Southeast-based reprobates (and Mrs Column) descended upon one of Drury Lane’s finest hostelries, exotic fruit beers were drunk (except by this milquetoast) and racing fat was well and truly chewed.

Do you want to start the bidding for a suitable date and venue this time around, Irish?

Not sure if it was an "official" do last time or just a meeting in a pub.

Which pub was it you were at on Drury Lane last time? Could try that one again?

The White Hart would be quite good for something like this.

It was the Lowlander, Irish, suggested by Prufrock and appreciated all round, I think it’s fair to say, though it did get a bit noisy. Fine Belgian and Dutch ales, if that’s your thing.

Certainly wasn’t "official" in the sense that no-one outwith the massed ranks of TRFfers was paying the blindest bit of notice, but we didn’t mind!

Sounds good – would anyone be interested in meeting up on either the 9th (Tuesday before) or 10th (Wednesday) of March for a pre-Cheltenham discussion forum/drinks/rowdiness in the Lowlander?
