hi mates! how was your first day of the open? mine went quite well, had two nice winners with razor royale and french opera.
I’ve said it before but for a raceday that is supposed to be the highlight of the pre-festival season, and with admission charged accordingly, excepting the big race today’s card is extremely moderate fare.
There is surely no excuse for having a six-race card today, and the final handicap hurdle would not have been out of place at Ludlow on Thursday. The novice chase is also an extremely disappointing turnout.
As an annual member it won’t of course stop me being there but I would feel really short-changed if I’d shelled out club prices for today’s fare.
i agree about the saturday undercard,indeed i found the sunday meeting much more enjoyable though am suprised that the master minded/well chief clash didnt put any more on the gate
