Can anyone tell me the conditions attached to the new mare’s race at the Festival? I’m presuming it’s a level weights contest open to all? I know it’s over 2m 4 1/2 of the New course on Gold Cup day, any other information gratefully received.

Thanks Alchemist- was just thinking that Gaspara must have a squeak in it, despite not being quoted by Cashman’s. Their brave quote of 4/1 has lessened my interest somewhat.

comba womba looks a moral in this given that the trip is 2m 4f … done well to win at 2m at Donie…. will be a banker at Cheltenham.

Gaspara for me as well as she loves Cheltenham. 7/1 currently with Hills, but I’m waiting until NRNB as you never know what the Pipe camp are planning

What has actually been confirmed for this race.

Chomba Womba & Lounaos are entered in the Champion Hurdle
Gaspara, Refinement, & Labelthou are entered in the World Hurdle
Theatre Girl is entered in the Supreme Novices Hurdle

The only horse < 20/1 in the betting without another possible Festival engagement is Sweet Kiln.

will Sweet kiln travel. Bowes horses are rarely travelled outside of Ireland and she aint the biggest in the World and wants soft ground wont get a soft lead in Cheltenham. Also bere in mind what the french might send there good mare are streets ahead of ours maybe with the excpetion of Chomba Womba

Read somewhere the other day that Chomba Womba definately goes for the mares race. I wish she would go for the Champion as I bet Sweet Kiln a while back when I saw she was enetered in the CH…….thought I was being clever as she looked a banker without Hendersons.

Now our friend is saying she may not travel….ever had the feeling you’ve done your money

    Batman its Lounaos.

Having watched her capitulate tamely in the Triumph I would be surprised if she figured.

She is rated 135 and Chomba Womba has been improved from 136 to 153 now with a proper trainer. So even if Chomba Womba has to give her say 5lbs she is still 13lbs better off than if it were a handicap.

Lounaos is 8/1, Chomba Womba 4/1 – I know who I would be backing.

but look at this years form, won on boxing Day and ran a cracker in AIG i think 8/1 is a great price, but i also like your selection and the Bowe horse who has won on good this season!!

I’d love to know how Henderson has improved Chomba Womba by 17lbs.Her form last year was arguably as good as this seasons -I can only assume the person who made the point is completely ignorant about Irish racing

I think sweet kiln is a cracking bet. The last time when they dropped her in she looked better to me than when she lead.. That’ll work in her favour at cheltenham..

Lounaos is actually rated 142 now and, in the unlikely event of her getting her favoured soft ground, would probably be the bet of the meeting at 8/1.
    Imo, of course.
