The 2/1 you asked for.
Better to do it by PM though, as it isn’t what this forum’s about, imo. You’re after me in the payout queue, reet.

I think our only bets going to be the clash of Solwhit v Go Native Grass, the others seem to be going knowhere at the minute! Reet has been very generous in giving me 2/1 about Imperial running to 4 places,Betfair only go 5/2 for 3 places, the 4th place could be crucial if Denman and Kauto run to form,as Taranis could also surprise!Obviously he has nailed me down to A.P rules applying,so he will collect if Imperial doesn"t get there,or a last minute change of plan sees him in the Ryanair! Good luck to the pair of you!

February 3, 2010 at 13:26 #273768I can’t believe anyone really thinks Denman was 100% at any stage last season. I think theres a fag paper between the two horses personally, and just hope they arrive safely and run their races to the finish.

OK mouth.
I was simply trying to save Fist’s money, I’d have no qualms about taking yours.
How much?Nice of you to think about me but considering I backed kauto Star 5 times at 2/1 and 7/4 and grabbed 8/1 about Denman last year. I think it’s safe to say backing Imperial Commander without the big 2 won’t skin me.
The way I see it, it’s a process of elimination and it took about 5 seconds to work out there is no danger to those three if they stand up.
As far as Imprerial Commander not staying is concerned you could be right but any horse who can go head to head with Kauto Star at level weights and leave good horses 20 and 30 lengths in his wake has got to be some tool. The way he came up the hill in the Ryanair he looked like he’d get 4m2f let alone 3m2f. I think he will stay.
Anyway I’ve done the maths and if he wins the race I will have made nothing but lost nothing. If he finsihes behind one or both of the Nichols pair then it’s happy birthday to me if he doesn’t I’m still quids in.
It’s the one race of the year I want to enjoy and not worry too much which horse wins from a financial point of view and I think I’ve achieved that.

I was listening to Paul Nichols talking about that and he simply wasn’t sure how much he had come on from Kempton. So they decided to ride him to get home which must have made some difference to the eventual outcome.
However he ran like a very fit horse and if you watch him after the last he never showed any signs of blowing up or tiring. He actually picked up after jumping it and came up the hill really well.
I think PN’s decision to play it safe was the right one and it certainly has paid dividends. If anything he looks a better horse than ever.
You could argue his run at Aintree proves the point he wasn’t himself. Some people say it was the course but that to me is BS and he’d beat MDB hands down on any course in the UK. I think it’s much more likely the rushed preperation and the Gold Cup itself took a lot out of him and like many horses who go there after Cheltenham he ran below par.
At the end of the day I think Denman was very near his peak on Gold Cup day. They deprived him of his biggest asset plus Kauto Star this time was at his best. With those two factors in mind Denman IMO was set an impossible task.
If Denman comes through the AON test with flying colours then it will be match on but whether a chance back to the 2008 tactics will be enough to make up the deficit remains to be seen.
One things for sure. It would take an Arkle like performance for Kauto to beat Denman by 13 lengths again.
It’s much more likely to be nearer a fag paper seperating the 2 than it is Kauto Star winning by that margin again but I just can’t see the big horse beating him.
February 9, 2010 at 21:53 #275254for me fist it does depend on the ground,if its soft then i like Denman, good ground the fresh horse of kauto star will travel then do them all for speed.
I agree that Imperial commander is the value and i continue puting more e/way bets as we get closer to the big day,If anything is going to surprise the big two its him,10s plus is value to me.February 9, 2010 at 21:57 #275256I was wondering guys when is the next batch of Festival Entries out….??
February 9, 2010 at 22:04 #275259I’m reliably informed that the handicaps close on 23rd February, with entries released a couple of days later.
February 9, 2010 at 22:24 #275263Balls……
20 odd days with no festival entries and no decent Horse’s out. GRRRRRRRRR i go into Hibernation for a while
February 10, 2010 at 23:41 #275525Um, two of the three best steeple chasers in the UK & Ireland are running this weekend Wallace… Perhaps you may want to postpone hibernation?
February 13, 2010 at 14:43 #276109Wow Denman beaten unseated AP, wonder what price now for the Gold Cup.

Hills are going 11/4 now Denman
Kautos gone odds on 5/6
11/4 could be too big!!!
February 13, 2010 at 17:59 #276258IC 14/1 looks especially attractive now as he only has Kauto to beat.

I’d wan’t a lot more than that unless I knew for sure that AP was NOT on board
