What was your highlight of the day?
mine was Annie Power wow blew them Away!!
And …
Your not so good highlight?
Sorry the Gavin Sheehan ride on Out Sam was a Disgrace just Beating Richard Johnson’s Ride in the last.
March 15, 2016 at 19:06 #1237744For the first time I realised that I’ve got bored with the overkill coverage
I watched the cricket and just flicked over for the races
Can’t be bothered with endless RUK and ATR Previews, coverage starting at 9AM on race days……the build up is longer than the meeting……

All the waffle between races, interviews with incredibly dull trainers and jockeys who all say ‘he’s a nice horse, but he’s not suited by good to soft, soft in places, he really needs good to soft, good in places’
bah humbug……..
March 16, 2016 at 01:56 #1237867Magical to see Annie Power storming away with Champion Hurdle; further evidence she would have won it 2 yrs ago as well. Always loved her. Heard rumours they may put her over fences, but perhaps she’s getting on a bit for that
March 16, 2016 at 05:40 #1237884I just can’t get excited about three men dominating proceedings(Mullins, Walsh and Ricci), especially when they keep running their horses in the wrong races just to keep them apart. I wonder how popular boxing would be if Ali and Frazier had never fought. Or imagine if Federer only took part in Wimbledon, Djikovic only played the US Open and Nadal the French.
March 16, 2016 at 06:01 #1237888Well they got the going totally wrong, the hurdles course (old) was riding on the fast side of good +0.15s/f, and the chase course (old) on the slow side of good -0.10s/f.
Turf going allowance table:
Firm +0.55s/f to +0.63s/f
Good/firm +0.20s/f to +0.53s/f
Good -0.25s/f to +0.18s/f
Good/soft -0.55s/f to -0.28s/f
Soft -1.00s/f to -0.58s/f
Heavy -1.58s/f to -1.03s/fThe worst quote award on the going goes to Nico de Boinville, who claimed it was “dead in places”,
so how come Altior ran -5.0s below standard?
As for Graham Cunningham’s assessment of the going, he should stick his stopwatch where the sun don’t shine.Cheltenham
