Going will be different next year and the opposition will be stiffer but its what I do..

I just love threads like this – it’s the perpetual looking to the ante-post future that helps make TRF what it is.

My contribution at this juncture is going to be an “anti-Ante-Post” (work THAT out) one.

I can’t have this year’s Supreme throwing up a future Champion Hurdler – it just wasn’t a vintage renewal as evidenced by the winner being slaughtered by the brilliant Ballyburn last time out.

And much though I like Fact To File and consider him a progressive prospect, that wasn’t a vintage Broadway either and the placed horses have about as much chance of winning a Cheltenham Gold Cup as I have.

Gaelic Warrior, however, will win whatever race he runs in at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival as will Ballyburn.

    Thank you and goodnight.

    Correct Ian,

I’m on Gaelic Warrior at 25’s Champion Chase
    10’s Ryanair

Why isn’t he priced up for the Gold Cup?
We all know Willie Mullins is the champion of the board game “guess where”

Tough old week, but it won’t put me off trying again, though it’ll be very strictly a year out, and after that, absolutely nothing unless it’s a particular standout.

National Hunt Chase, Stellar Story He’ll be in contention for a few things after that, but I had a shortlist of seven for this race pre-Cheltenham, and he’s the one I’ll go with (opened at 10’s, maybe not)

Brown Advisory, Ballyburn 16’s I’ll never have a notebook horse again like this one, he looks exceptional. Unfortunately with his profile now, I’ll never really get a chance to bet him too often again, so I just took the 16’s for the hell of it, as I think he’ll go definitely for The Turners. I would’ve taken 7’s, but completely missed it.

Cross Country, Coko Beach 10’s I’ve bet him just now, as I’ll know he’ll go here, barring mishap, and if he goes above 10’s, I’ll top up. Conflated would also be big fancies, but with firms having cottoned on to Elliot, just got to pick one and stick with it.

    The JP Quartet
Corbetts Cross – The one that got away for me this year. Really like him for The Gold Cup, and I think 16’s is fair. Fact To File the obvious fly in the ointment

Johnnywho – I’ll bet him for something, but given the list of potential targets it’ll be once NRNB kicks in, or “any race”

Meetingofthewaters – Notebook horse of mine this year, and I’m not too worried about his third in Ultima. I think he’s still a work in progress, and will improve again beyond handicaps

Inothewayurthinkin – Not too fussed that it was The Kim Muir, he’s a very, very good horse. Bit dismayed by the opening 20’s for The Gold Cup. I wanted double. Hopefully an interesting campaign will see me get it

    The rest
Supersundae – A very interesting horse, who I’ll bet hopefully for Arkle or Turners, but will depend obviously on how he’s campaigned. Could be another for “any race”

Faivoir – I’ll bet him long range for County again

If you see me have any others over this trio before October, have a word, but if I can stick to that, this’ll be my three.

Stellar Story TBC now, very short
    Ballyburn 16’s
    Coko Beach 10’s

Last couple for me, hopefully until November at least

Meetingofthewaters probably unlikely to go Gold Cup route with JP having Fact To File, Corbetts Cross, and potentially Inothewayurthinkin, but couldn’t resist the odds

On verge of betting Corbetts Cross too, but I’ll have to decide before The Bowl

Croke Park could run a big race at Aintree tomorrow. B365 have him at 25s for the NH chase and 50s for the BANC. I think the former would be better, but have put a bit on both, win only.

Fact to File now Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite
GDC’s and Fastorslow can continue to beat each other up along the way and the fresh legged horse will canter past them.. :rose:

    Arkle :
Ballyburn won’t run here, Firefox is talented but bred for further….

Jeriko Du Reponet is 33s – I didn’t have him down as a Supreme winner due to the quality / depth in Mullins’ yard but it’ll probably be a weak renewal because many of the horses who ran well in the 2 mile novice hurdles at the festivals this season won’t be chasing ( or shouldn’t be any good if they do )
JDR is only 5, a PTP winner and from this yard…? Arkle surely the target.
