I’m clipping away on Mighty Potter to win this years Turners and the 2024 Gold Cup at 25’s with Sportsbook
Hes 14’s top price at present for the 2024 Gold Cup, I’ve already bagged the 20’s and if he wins in the style anticipated will be single figuresThe Gold Cup debate around GDC’s seems a lack of contenders so Mighty Potter will be in the mix next year if they go that route.

March 9, 2023 at 12:27 #1638240I see Constitution Hill is 5/4 for the 2024 Champion Hurdle.
If he is as good as some of us here believe he is, isn’t it 5/4 against him not getting injured?

I’d agree, maybe the thought is that he may go Chasing? But as could be inferred from your post, if he is as good as we think he is surely they’d want to keep him over hurdles to cement his legacy regardless of what their initial plans were for the horse?
March 9, 2023 at 13:02 #1638244Yes, the possibility of going chasing could be factored into the price. But how many Champion Hurdle horses do? Even Faugheen, the first Champion Hurdle winner to graduate from the point to point field, was kept over hurdles after winning it.
March 9, 2023 at 13:25 #1638250I suppose the real question with that Constitution Hill bet is what’s the point? I often hear when they are odds on, say 1/3, people say if you’ve got the 3 what do you need the 1 for, generally because you’d have to be betting hefty on a single at those odds to make it worth bothering. Is it worth tying up what presumably would have to be a large stake if doing it as a single for an entire year?

His legacy could be to become the first horse to complete the Champion Hurdle/Gold Cup double without the benefit of the mares’ allowance.

And yet the same people would probably bite your arm off for an ROI of 33% on their annual betting turnover in any one year of their lives.

In other words, to do it properly.
(Yes, I was on Wayward Lad win only at 12/1).

The world and his wife have woken up to just how brilliant he is now and 5/4 just reflects the probability of him being even aimed for the race and staying in one piece.

For sure, I was going to use a similar argument but say hedgefunds would kill for a 100% ROI in 12 months stock, though the counterargument I guess would be that with a stock you aren’t tied in for 12 months, I believe even with long/short options contracts you’re able to sell for a profit before their expiration date.
March 9, 2023 at 14:25 #1638271If you can’t find a horse to back at 5/4 to get a return on your bet in the next week or so then you shouldn’t be gambling in the first place.
If 5/4 pokes are your thing there’s hundreds of them running in the next 12 months to prevent you having to tie your money up without the worry of it hanging over you for 12 months when you’re not even guaranteed to get a run for your money!
Mighty potter/Shiskin/delta work. There’s 3 there around the same price or bigger you can have a go at where you know you’re getting a run for your money and don’t have to wait 369 days to collect your £90 or whatever it is
March 9, 2023 at 14:53 #1638274I’ll be looking at 2024 prices for Ballyburn (Ballymore) and Impaire Et Passe (Arkle) as soon as I can.

March 9, 2023 at 17:14 #1638285Who do you think you’re dealing with here? Chezza?
March 9, 2023 at 17:48 #1638286I’d be interested in ballyburn to win any race if that’s 8/1+ when priced up
March 9, 2023 at 19:03 #1638292Whats the fascination recently with ballyburn… whats he done to be 16/1?
