I’m a little surprised Franchoek is only quoted by one bookmaker for the World Hurdle.

Surely if he stays hurdling that is his only option at next years festival.I think you’re right, he lacks speed to do 2m but the staying route will be his next season. Whether he’s good enough for the world hurdle, time will tell. I think he’d still be second best in the yard over that distance behind Blazing Bailey (and maybe even My Way)
June 12, 2008 at 16:39 #168085I know its only June and I may be jumping the gun a little bit but does anyone think that we might see any classy flat recruits going hurdling next season and running in the novice races at next years festival. After we have seen the likes of Celestial Halo and Elusive Dream go hurdling with some success. I would personally love to see Soapy Danger run at Cheltenham next march perhaps carrying the wylie colours. What classy flat horses would you like to see run other hurdles at the festival next march?
September 22, 2008 at 16:43 #181961As expected Black Jacari is entered in ‘that’ juvenile hurdle on Saturday.
September 22, 2008 at 18:47 #181984Would liked to have seen Black Rock going over hurdles if he had been sent to the sales, but the last time he ran he went wrong at the end of a race at Goodwood in July. Does anyone know the extent of the injury he picked up?

Big test this saturday. Looks an interesting race, the Moore horse looks like it could be quite good.
AK is delighted with BJ and we know why the horse didn’t perform in his most recent flat races – let’s hope the hurdles get his mind back on the job at handHe’s available with William Hill at 40s for the Triumph – will be interesting to see what price after saturday (either I’m sitting on a great price or a no-hoper!)… that said Francheok got beaten here last year and still progressed to nearly with the Triumph
