The New Lion is the most overrated hurdler around at the moment.
Outpaced a couple of three-milers in a slowly run Sun Alliance Hurdle* and he’s suddenly favourite for the Champion? Dream on. I don’t lay horses but if I did I’d be against this one all day.
* I can’t keep up with all these sponsorship changes, so it’s still the Sun Alliance Hurdle for me. Just like the Mackeson, Hennessy, Whitbread, etc.

If “The Hill” is anywhere near his best, he wins, and there aren’t many trainers with a greater record of bringing them back than Henderson.

The problem is he isn’t , what reason was given for Ireland ? , the worry is even if you mark off Ireland he was getting beat at Aintree

Used to be my favourite race of the year – now, like a lot of jumping it’s pretty average.
The ‘will he, won’t he’ about CH is getting boring…..and we’re going to get another season of it.I don’t think I could take months and months of will the hill be the horse of old. Its highly unlikely as his jumping is the issue and until that somehow is fixed he will keep making mistakes when the pressure is on. We have anzadam,the new lion and others to challenge the likes of state man so there is no need to constantly go on about c hill. If he come back and is competitive I’d be delighted but please give us a break from constant updates. Please.
Mickey you,’ll find the longest thread on here is the Con Hill thread , there’s a reason for it so I wouldn’t hold my breath …
CH looks to be a horse that needs glasses to see hurdles now , and a injection of guts for the fight . One moment of pressure he will crumble.Retirement by Christmas is my guess .
