Dirty scope, dont wish the horse ill health but ill be delighted if he misses this after how theyve campaigned him, thoroughly deserved if hes out

Just in case he should miss Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown would become more realistic targets. Or even a campaign on the Flat.
Though I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept him in the stable and have him race twice a year until he retires at the age of ten.

Looking at Nicky’s stable form, I bet he’s not the only one to have scoped dirty over the past 3-4 weeks.

Seven of his last 13 runners have been PU. How many times do you see this?

Agree Ham. I genuinely hope Constitution Hill is OK but I have zero sympathy for Henderson and Buckley.

So much discussion about a horse that has seen the racecourse just once this season.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I couldn’t get excited about a 1/4 favourite strolling around Cheltenham again. It’s a million miles from the golden era.

Well, this is probably more palatable than CH being withdrawn at midday on the morning of the race cos it’s raining.

I notice that the horse’s malady came to light after a racecourse gallop at Kempton.

Why is Henderson allowed to do this? Are other trainers afforded this luxury? If Mr Small Trainer rang up Kempton and asked if he could use the racecourse as a schooling session, would the course be so accommodating?

Racecourse gallops should be banned. Call me old fashioned but if a trainer wants to use a racecourse, he or she should enter their horses in that thing called a race. And I believe the best way to keep a racehorse fit is to run him in races.

If Constitution Hill misses Cheltenham, I expect a trip to Punchestown will be less likely.

Henderson seems to have an away day every year. The thing that annoys me most is that the Racing Post describes an unknown horse. This shouldn’t be happening. If you want to gallop a horse the names should be known to everyone.

Makes me suspicious about the supposed dirty scope a few weeks back now.
I suspect, he just didn’t want to run him at trials day or Leopardstown and now karma has come back to bite him.

Didn’t he do exactly the same last year?

The worst example was a few years ago when Henderson was allowed to work about half a dozen horses before racing at Kempton with the jockeys all wearing the owners colours. He was in effect allowed to stage a private race.

I know Willie Mullins’s domination is not ideal but at least he does run his horses, including several in the same race. Fair play to him for doing that.

Some hard hearts out there in Forumland. Whatever the rights and wrongs, Henderson hasn’t looked a well man these past few months.

    Moody man,

Whats that got to do with the campaigning of CH this season? I wish no ill health on nicky or the horse, but hes absolutely wasting a potential once in a lifetimer, state mans going to finish the more decorated animal, because what? it rained in winter and an away day doesnt suit?. how does that sit with the horses best interest?

If the horse was trained by anyone else he’d have 4 grade 1s this season alone at this point with the spring festivals to come

I really hope state man gets his CH and sets willie up for a shot at the big 3 in a few weeks time

I don’t think it’s Hendersons fault that the press have built the horse up into the second coming. It reminds me of ‘celebs’ that the tabloids build up over a period of time only so they can destroy them at a later date. And a lot of the pressure is because he trains one of the few English horses that can beat the Irish ones. I still don’t understand why one horse can scare away all of the opposition when, horses being what they are, anything can happen to stop them running.

Which four G1s Ham? The Fighting Fifth was lost & the International is a G2. So the Christmas Hurdle plus three separate trips to Ireland before Cheltenham? Really?
