    Collapsed and died after the Paddy Power chase today. A great record at leopardstown and won a high quality punchestown gold cup in his prime.

    I’m absolutely gutted with this news. An absolute star who I wish could have made it into retirement. I’ve loved following him over the years, and I hope it was quick for him.

    So sorry Bobby that one you have followed for such a long time had to bow out like this, I felt the same when Persian Punch went a similar way and it stays with you always. Some horses just give their all and that’s what Carlingford Lough did yesterday, as you said ‘Proper Horse’.

    Such a sad end for a brave warrior … would have liked to have seen him have a decent (active) retirement.
