Can anyone advise me about cancelling my subscription to Racing TV (via Sky)? My preferred option is to only have the channel for the majority of the national hunt season (Nov to May) but I’m not sure if that is possible and whether I’m locked into having a 12 month subscription?

    Grateful for anyone’s help/ guidance.

I recently signed up; from the small print, I’d suggest that the best thing to do is to call them.

Hi Phil, whether it’s via Sky or not I don’t think makes any difference, you have to have had RTV for the minimum subscription period of 12 months before cancelling.

I’ve had RUK/RTV for several years and am going to cancel, largely for the same reason as you plus them not having a second TV channel. I’m going to cancel with effect my advance monthly payment due 7/6 but, as I understand it, have to do so by phone before 7/5 – so people be aware of this condition.

Of course, I won’t be able to do this every year (only every other). It will be interesting to see if I’m offered a viable inducement to stay and, if not, whether I will in the autumn be able to take advantage of any ‘new subscriber’ offers.

I urge everybody to cancel in protest about RTV coverage having become substandard due to cramming too much racing in.

Thanks guys, I read somewhere that I have to give them 28 days notice which is fair.

There is too much racing for one channel and was annoyed that on Saturday Aintree had to share coverage with Leopardstown and they had Niall Hannity on course to take more time away from Aintree.

I wish they would introduce a “jumps only” membership as it’s surely only a matter of time before their prices go up to pay for the addition of the Irish racing.

Coverage of jumps finale day at Sandown is set to be a dogs breakfast this year with 2 Irish meetings now being shown on top of Haydock & Leicester.
No wonder ITVs figures are on the up.
