Such a credit to connections, and such a handsome individual.
Rest In Peace, Brown Panther.
This guy is a machine. All he does is work out and pick winners. Talk about fit. You should see him without his shirt off, serious side of beef.
September 13, 2015 at 16:32 #1204797At least we know that they would have done anything to save him. I sort of wished that they’d retired him when he got over that injury, but he had been running well since then. Can’t quite believe it. [got my timescale mixed up in that I’d forgotten at which point he’d picked up the injury, so this was his first race since that happened].
September 13, 2015 at 17:48 #1204821For it to be at the track that provided his sole group 1 success is…..well, coincidental but so heartbreaking.
There isn’t many horses I can point to from a punting point of view that I have backed more than 4 times and say I have made a profit from them.
I was beside myself when he won over in Dubai this year as I poo pooed his chances. He gave me the proverbial two fingers that day. This horse had guts and pure talent, he will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
September 13, 2015 at 22:30 #1205227I don’t want to believe what I have only just read, absolutely devastated and for all connections.
He was a beautiful horse, one in a million, a horse of a lifetime for Michael Owen and all who cared for him.
To loose any horse is difficult to come to terms with but Brown Panther was loved by everyone..
we will miss you so much brave boy, hope you didn’t suffer too much I’m sure they did all they could for you.
RIP Brown PantherThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 14, 2015 at 08:42 #1205755Oh trip; I made a point of listening to the race on racing radio because he was running, and I wish I hadn’t now. I, too still can’t believe it has happened. At least, as Michael Owen said, thanks to social media, they know they’re not alone in their sadness; it’ll be a good few days before I can shift this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. You sere SO loved Brown Panther and the joy you brought to your connections was transmitted to racing folk like me; alas we now have to share the sadness as well. Sleep well, beautiful boy.
September 14, 2015 at 22:18 #1206159It’s still with me today too Moe and I know it will take quite some time to fade, like you say that horrible feeling in your stomach.
Feel so sad for Michael Owen as he was there when he was foaled and he could have had so much more time with him.
Brown Panther was just one of those horses, the way he walked with a kind of swagger as if he knew he was really something. We’ll never forget him and I hope they name a race in his memory.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out... - AuthorPosts
