Winter Escape 33/1
Could have a squeak in a few races and is still available to win any race at 33/1
Comfortably beat A Plus Tard giving him a stone before Cheltenham last year ( 2 M 4F ).Fair enough APT is a fair better horse running left handed but still looks good now. Had an injury and then burst a blood vessel on his next run.
Started this year with a decent run over hurdles and then probably faced mission impossible trying to give weight to Chris’s Dream and Fitzhenry. In his last run in the Paddy Power Chase looked like playing a big part until more or less stopping to a standstill at the finish.
Dropped in the weights since and maybe this trip could be right up his street.
January 15, 2020 at 09:22 #1479819Is there a way to get stewards reports on the HRI website like you can the BHA? Stopping to a standstill sounds like he could have burst again.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 15, 2020 at 12:55 #1479829It’s possible Kev, but best form seems to be on better ground and over shorter. A brutal race that PP was.

March 12, 2020 at 11:20 #1485667Already have deyrann de carjacc at 16/1
Am going to add robin des foret at 16/1 as I just noticed he has had a breathing operation
Hes been tanking into his races this season but not finishing them off
March 12, 2020 at 12:06 #1485674Always a cracker this race, though my record in it is horrific.
I do think Spiritofthegames is way overpriced and he’s main fancy here, which is not good news for anyone else on him.
Combine my record in this, along with Willie Mullins horrible record in Handicap Chases, and you can safely rule out Livelovelaugh as well. He’s still got plenty to offer, and he’s my Topham horse this year for sure. This might just be a prep for that.
Snow Falcon certainly not dismissed either.
Livelovelaugh EW 6 Places

March 12, 2020 at 16:21 #1485782Well done to the winners. I was on Death Duty at 22/1 and was getting hopeful but it was not to be. Pleased Lizzie Kelly walked away from that fall. It looked horrible.
March 12, 2020 at 16:23 #1485783Great to see a couple of aggressively campaigned improving handicappers fighting out the finish…
Unlike the earlier handicap.
Value Is EverythingMarch 12, 2020 at 16:25 #1485784Mr Whitaker put a few more sheckles in my pocket , death duty traveled well for a long way …..that lad gave him a lovely ride
