The Breeders cup is just around the corner so I thought id make a start on the threads for the races, apart from the Mile and the Classic which already have threads, Here is the thread for the Filly & Mare Turf.
The obvious winner of this race is last years winner Midday, short as 4/5 in some places but has some serious challengers to contend with, Sarafina, 3rd in the Arc should run, Stacelita who was beaten by Midday earlier in the season, Plumania, another Arc runner, Hibaayeb for Godolphin, I find it hard to see Midday getting beaten, but Hibaayeb should run a big race and its hard to discount Sarafina from the places at least.
Midday 4/5
Stacelita 10
Plumania 10
Red Desire 10
Sarafina 12
Eclair De Lune 10
Proviso 10
Hibaayeb 12Thoughts on this race?
October 13, 2010 at 11:16 #322164The climate at Churchill Downs suits our European horses better. Can’t say for the British horses but I bet that European horses come away with a few wins.

I absolutely adore this filly Midday. IMO She could give this lot a stone and still beat them.
She should be 1/4 and you should fill your boots now.
October 13, 2010 at 13:07 #322189Stacelita going for the HK Cup instead as expected, she’s more of a 10f horse.
I also don’t know if Sarafina is going, but if she is I don’t see how you can be confident Midday will do her. Sarafina wasn’t fully tuned when Midday beat her, the ground was very soft (I think the trainer suggested that he may be better on good), and she was ridden much more quietly than usual that day because they weren’t sure she’d stay and of course the Arc was 3 weeks away.

I think Midday has come on leaps and bounds and her defeat of Sarafina unlucky 3rd in the Arc should give everyone the clue. I’ve battered the crap out of the evens available in a few different shops.
