Anyone have any idea how i get a bet on him for the 2012 derby or the guineas? On odds checker a few online companies have got their prices up for the 2000 guineas but theres no mention of born to sea. Went into coral the other day but they said they didn’t have their prices yet. As soon as he wins a race the odds will go to nothing
June 7, 2011 at 08:49 #359358Ever since Raymond Guest got big Derby odds from William Hill against his unraced son of Sir Gaylord back in the 60s, no bookmaker has dared put their head above the parapet again.
Best wait until he actually runs in a race.
He’ll probably be as slow as a boat anyway, they usually are.

August 10, 2011 at 06:18 #367669Thats nothing ,..Trainer wouldnt send a top class 2yo out so soon ,so must be showing something ,grab the 2012 classic prices,
Early on Ladbrokes offered 66/1 Derby ,…Ireland took that !!October 8, 2011 at 01:20 #373352Love this horse already. He looks a lot like his older brother, though a bit brighter bay, but the same ears flat back determined look about him in the final stretch.
Will be following him closely and praying he is Group 1 class. Adore Urban Sea and all her progeny.
Showed a nice turn of foot and determination to run to the line. Exciting times ahead. No other 2yos have excited me this season, Ballydoyle do not seem to have sorted their pecking order out yet. This weekend may tell us something but by this time last year we knew Frankel was the one to follow. Nothing similar this year.
Fancy Nephrite though.
October 30, 2011 at 13:09 #374960Lookign forward to seeing him again in just under the half hour. Nephrite will be a test.
October 30, 2011 at 13:35 #374970Nephrite wins.

Not sure where people get the idea that he actually looks like Sea The Stars? I think he looks nothing like him, overated if I have to be honest.
October 30, 2011 at 13:44 #374976He looks more compact and less rangy than his esteemed half-brother. Likeable enough though and not a bad effort, winner might be pretty good.
October 30, 2011 at 17:26 #375031Sporting Life has "lame post race"in their race report for Born to Sea.Anyone know anything ’bout that?
October 30, 2011 at 17:37 #375035It was reported on ATR that John Oxx had the colt looked at after the race and he reported that the horse was lame.
Watching it on the ATR replay you can see him seem to almost take a false or hesitant step at 1.07.
