Do you feel Kucharski ripped off David Sklansky in some ways? Many of the concepts he presents as fresh are awfully similar to things Sklansky wrote in the ’90s. Kucharski is much easier to read than anything by the parrot-fancying poker pioneer, though.
July 21, 2016 at 20:55 #1256796I don’t think Kucharski would necessarily claim the ideas as fresh but I’d suspect he’d hope he’d presented them in a fresh way. I don’t think he ripped Sklansky off but there is a certain amount of research to draw on and it’s inevitable that there will be shared elements in any such book on chance and probability related topics.
Thank you for your comments re- the review LS. If you are interested more generally in numbers there is an excellent book on the history of numbers and their association with risk. It’s called Against the Gods (great title) by Peter L Bernstein. It’s a great, interesting and absorbing read. Buy it via this link if you do fancy it and you’ll be helping the forum out also http://amzn.to/29ZEB3H - AuthorPosts
