March 14, 2024 at 16:18 #1685978Love Paisley Park. His cracking, last-gasp win in the 2018 Betfair Exchange Stayers Hurdle got a lot of people buzzing with excitement for his future. Brilliant performer on his day.
Happy and long retirement Paisley!
March 14, 2024 at 17:29 #1686009Pleased to hear Paisley Park has retired. He has been such a good servant to the Emma Lavelle stable.
I had one of my largest ever bets when he won the Stayers. The mistake he made at the last almost made me have a meltdown but he won well.
I hope he has a long and happy retirement. He has certainly earned it.

March 17, 2024 at 22:23 #1687205What a star Cyclop has been. He has been a fixture in staying chases for not far off of a decade, which is an exceptionally long duration. His first win came over at hurdles at Auteuil back in 2014, and his first chase win came as a 4 year-old at Huntingdon in 2015. He never won any particularly big races, with a couple of regional nationals and veterans’ chases being among the highlights. However, he held his form very well, and produced his best performances when his age had reached double figures. He retires at age 13, having won 11 of 69 races, and over £161k in prize money.
Horses such as Cyclop are the backbone of Jumps racing, and a key reason why people fall in love with the sport. Wishing him a long and happy retirement, it has certainly been well earned.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 22, 2024 at 09:14 #1687727Lalor has returned to Kayley Woollacott’s for his retirement as his owner promised https://twitter.com/k_woollacott/status/1771075915998527784?t=Xizz-c9WJ3FxCzhH_8g8_w&s=19
March 22, 2024 at 19:44 #1687967Thanks for posting that Tonge, that is lovely news about Lalor. I know his owner came in for some criticism for moving him away to Paul Nicholls, but I can’t think badly of them for trying something new after the horse lost his form.
Am delighted he has returned home now though. Wishing Lalor a long and happy retirement.

March 27, 2024 at 20:48 #1688475Ewan Whillans has announced that 5 x hurdles and 2 x flat winner Kaizer has been retired. He got a tendon injury in November 2022 and the vet considered he wouldn’t be able to race again, but I’m sure Ewan and the horse’s owner Mrs Ferguson will ensure he has a long and happy retirement. He had a bit of a supporter’s club amongst the ‘Kelso Rooftoppers’ as one of our number occasionally represented the owner on course.
