You worry for Bryony now Frodon is gone , she’s to good not to be riding in the big races , her ride on il Ridito was prob the best losing ride of the season so far

Happy retirement Frodon. I think that could be it for Bryony’s Grade 1 horses. If she gets another one Cobden will snatch it away and Nicholls will let him.

Another great warrior into hopefully a happy retirement.

Glad to see Sceau Royal bow out in one piece. He’d only beaten a single horse home in his last four races so, while I’m sure the enthusiasm was still there, the ability wasn’t.

Hope he has a long and happy retirement.

Sceau Royal was unusual in that he was consistently very good at both chasing and hurdling. Not many horses have maintained such a high standard in both disciplines over such a long period.

I still wonder how he would have fared if he hadn’t been badly hampered in the 2021 Champion Chase, especially as he still finished a close 5th.

Wishing Sceau Royal a long and happy retirement.

He travelled really well for a long way in the Christmas Hurdle but the old legs just don’t have it now at the business end of races these day and this was the best course of action to take – hopefully he has a long and fitting retirement after the enjoyment he has given us all through his years of versatile racing service over both hurdles and fences.

As an aside, it is nice to know that Frodon will be reunited with a fellow G1 stablemate and Bryony stalwart in Black Corton.

So relieved that 2 of my favourites have retired safe and sound, Frodon and Sceau Royal, they deserve long and happy retirements. Frodon will have fun with Bryony and his old mate Black Corton!
Wonder if Daryl Jacob would be tempted to take Sceau Royal home, i think i read somewhere he had been planning on having Top Notch in retirement, but sadly Top Notch didn’t make it to retirement.

Sceau Royal is probably curled up on Daryl Jacob’s sofa already, he loves that little horse

I read that he’s going to a home in the West Country where he’s going to do show jumping and ROR showing.

Thanks for the update Moehat, he’s a super little horse, and so talented, am sure he will be a star in the showjumping and ROR classes

I also read that the person who ‘discovered’Sceau Royale was a vet who realised that, although he was a small horse, he had a large heart ( I-assume they meant that he literally did have a large heart!). He’s always reminded me of another horse trained by Alan King who was fatally injured ( I forget his name, now): I remember how devastated his lad was and, for that reason I’ve always feared for Sceau Royale. So I’m happy that he’s retired sound and hopefully we’ll be seeing him parading at Cheltenham when the ROR horses are there (one of my favourite bits of the festival when I used to go).

Asdaa one of the racing club horses has been retired, he was no longer enjoying the game

Loved this video of Lostintranslation winning a “hunt ride” (I think the US equivalent is called a hunter trial). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5sqsJiftco
