Likewise, am very relieved Magical is not running at Santa Anita. She has been so tough and consistent, wishing her a long and fruitful retirement!
October 29, 2019 at 01:18 #1473104Magical was a tremendous horse and in any other era would have won seven group ones. Typical O’Brien Galileo filly, tough and consistent. A most gorgeous looking horse who donnacha adores. Happy retirement if you can call becoming a mum regularly retirement. I’m sure her foal by no nay Never will be eagerly anticipated.
November 1, 2019 at 11:09 #1473442And now Ten Sovereign retires. Being a sprinter, surely he could have raced on for another year.
November 1, 2019 at 11:35 #1473445Coolmore obviously desperate for stallions for all those Galileo mares!
November 7, 2019 at 13:02 #1474285Godolphin’s Hartnell will be retired on Saturday. I hate it when they announce “one last race”. Fingers crossed he goes out on a high and, more importantly, in one piece
https://www.godolphin.com/news/hartnell-a-horse-who-had-plenty-and-gave-it-his-allNovember 7, 2019 at 19:20 #1474299I’m with you on that one [thinking Eric’s Charm, Willsford etc….]

Agree re Hartnell having to have one last race, if he’s going to be Godolphin’s flagship horse for their Lifetime Care Programme why not just let him retire as of now, it’s not as if they need the money and he has no stud value to improve.Remember seeing him run as 2yo at Newmarket about this time of year 2013 where he beat Montaly when he was trained by Mark Johnston and as a 3yo he won the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot and the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket.
Enjoy your retirement Hartnell and thanks for all the happy memories Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 9, 2019 at 12:49 #1474429Good run from Hartnell, finishing 3rd and going out sound. Happy retirement boy. Nice to see Magic Wand finally winning a Group 1 too.
November 16, 2019 at 16:30 #1475156Splash of Ginge retired after his run today.
What a horse to have owned.
November 18, 2019 at 21:21 #1475319Thunder Snow was also retired early November, hope he is as successful a stallion as he was on the racecourse.
November 21, 2019 at 06:27 #1475431Looking forward to seeing the progeny of Thunder Snow llavim with his fantastic sireline and good looks. Wish him a brilliant career at stud and happy retirement.
Also wish happy days ahead for lovely old Splash Of Ginge. Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 24, 2019 at 21:15 #1475820Donacha O’Brien now retired as a jockey…aspiring to become a trainer like Joseph.
November 26, 2019 at 11:44 #1475916‘become a trainer like Joseph’ – or his old man, perhaps?
December 2, 2019 at 13:16 #1476372Every time I log in I come here hoping to see Minella Rocco added to this page.
December 5, 2019 at 23:14 #1476622Very pleased to see good old Raz De Maree bow out in one piece.
I was a bit annoyed at him not getting pulled up when toiling early on Sunday, but thankfully a happy ending for him.
Crazy to think that it was seven years ago that he won The Munster National, and he went on to win two Cork Nationals, before his finest moment at Chepstow in The Welsh National.
Smashing horse.
December 10, 2019 at 17:00 #1477047Gods Own retired today, been a great horse for connections.
December 11, 2019 at 23:02 #1477095Happy retirement to RDM and God’s Own.
