No not the real one! The idiots in South Africa have allowed an unraced 2 yo to be given the name of ‘Black Caviar’! Disgraceful,so be on the look out for another Frankel lining up in SA soon! Thats what you expect from jurisdictions that are less than professional.

Yeh, kind of laughed when I heard about this. Ridiculous really. But I also noticed 4-5 years ago a jumper in the UK named Kingston Town. Also in South Africa recently I’ve seen ”another” Takeover Target. Quite a bit of it going on around the world where champions from different countries past and present have had their name ”re-used”. Also a So You Think (Foaled in 2009) by Kahal x Thandiwe. Owners haven’t used much mental foresight.

Yes i remember the jumper Kingston Town,it would be a bit like us here naming a slow horse Frankel or a slow jumper here called Arkle.

There’s an Australian Battleship, Bushranger, Oedipus, Saluter, Personal Ensign, Damascus, Buckpasser, and Exterminator. All foaled long after the great horses bearing these names raced.
