Unfortunately though it seems nowadays that too many people take offence at the pettiest little things, and anyone who is prepared to say what they feel and possibly upset someone else in the process is looked on as a bad person.
I was so offended by Big Macs disrespect towards women in Big Brother that I now will only eat in Burger King when I go out for a meal. I have ever since always shunned the golden arches and would even choose Wimpy over a Big Mac.

Good for you!
I like it, you’ve made a choice, stuck to it and not been afraid to let people know.
I’m a golden arches deserter aswell, but for completely different reasons to yours.
March 21, 2008 at 10:34 #153105There is quite a lot of strength and
depth to the anit-mac brigade mob.
I have almost been swayed by their
convincing argument
( they are mostly white coated purists though )
and I may now have a foot
in both camps.Oh for the ghost of Big Tony
for an entrance with a bucket
of Diane Avis blood
to throw at the Morning line
and really convince me !I am quite amazed
the whole rather dated
format has lasted so long.
Almost an hour long at one time
and begs the question
does Lingfield Park
really need brightening up
at that early hour ?Having ‘said’ that, it was
quite a cult show at one time,
and brought in a lot
of non-racing peeping toms.
Mac’s holidays saw a nervous
Down’s ringless finger tracing the dailys
and people realised then
that a good fruit cake
was impossible without the sultanaMarch 21, 2008 at 16:49 #153163Hi
Part time he should have been put down years ago if not at birthMarch 21, 2008 at 17:48 #153173Does anyone remember the skinny guy with the straggly, dyed, jet black long hair, wearing the bright yellow shirt (he never had it off) who used to appear on screen just about everytime big mac did his piece to camera?
He seemed to stalk McCririck as he cropped up at a host of different courses. Whatever became of him, I wonder. Did he get barred from racecourses?
I know exactly who you mean.
I and my partner used to refer to him as "The Scruffy Git" and as you say he seemed to be stalking McCririck who sometimes got narked with him.
"Don’t wave, you idiot" was yelled at him more than once.I remember that Mac was on duty at Lingfield on G National day (2001) and asked racegoers who they thought would win.
He asked almost everyone and eventually came to his nemesis who said "Smarty, sir!"
Smarty was of course 2nd to Red Marauder at 16/1.The man later started looking paler and his appearances became less and then stopped altogether.
I fear that he may well be no more. - AuthorPosts
