Maximus thank you for Harrow..
a little bee misinformed the eye
a little bee that had wounded the eye
more deeply than anyone else could ever have done
Two hours ago the self-same eye
sat vexed in a cappuccino joint and
had the undisturbed opportunity
to examine in detail the back
of Jeremy Clarkson’s head.
In the unfertile patch it saw Tommo
and the vexed question of Big Mac sprung up
and this whole celebrity culture thing
lay there mixed up in Clarkson’s springy
three miles per hour hair
as it passed the window.Big Mac and Dennis and Clarkson are all blokes.
You get what you see.
Clarkson was wearing
a bog standard pair of jeans
and a tan bomber,
more or less what you would expect
to find in the tin.Bic Mac is one of the common people
Clarkson too
and they have elvated two
sideline interests;
the driving car
and in Dennis speak
the oh so boring
racehorse
into the fringes of the limelight.
Forget the crudity, the bling,
the silly hats, the stupid whose a tic faster,
and I would die for that pair of wheels,
forget the old spice,
they have done it
and the car would be in the ditch
and Neddy in stitches
without themMarch 19, 2008 at 17:07 #152608Barry Dennis,
You knew exactly I was when I backed that David Evans horse at Fontwell 33/1 was’nt it?
If you forget that one check your accounts the day you were betting away at Plumpton when a few of us hit you with Broadnard 2nd @50/1.
You may also remember that Hen Knight horse in the bumper at Sandown a few years ago. 25/1 if I remember correctly.
The majority of us on here do not use our own names so by your thinking are we all cowards then?
I hardly ever watch The Morning Line but if I feel the ‘Bismark’ thing is past its sell by date I have every right to let you or anyone else know.
If I feel that Mc Crirrick looked like a prat on the front page photo in yesterdays Racing Post I again have every right to say so.
What you seem to want is to have everyone thinking you are one of the top on course bookmakers and anything you write or say on television should be treated as ‘gospel’.
Others may well take a different view.
Your on course Jewish bookmaker colleagues at Fontwell a few years ago took offence by your religiously aggravated comments about them.
You should have stood up for yourself and called them cowards! Is bookmaker Kiki for example his real name?
Is bookmaker Bob Stock his real name?
Is bookmaker Elvington his real name?
The guys who bet under the William Hill umberella is that their real name?
Is bet365 a real name?
Is bookmaker Chronicle a real man?If your only defence to any comments about you is because someone who does not use their own name on a website is a coward you have sold yourself short.
March 19, 2008 at 17:19 #152612I agree with Barry Dennis’s point. Both he and McCririck say it how they see it. There’s no bullshit, no pandering no hiding away from controversy and no constantly trying to appease. I don’t always agree with what either says but they have my respect as "proper, down to earth" people.

McCririck down to earth, you are joking! Is this the same down to earth child who appeared on celebrity big brother a few years ago, they are a very down to earth crew that appear on that programme, biggest load of bullshit on TV.

I like honesty mate and I don’t like falseness. You can’t trust someone who is false.
McCririck love him or loathe him is certainly not false what you see is what you get and I respect that.
March 19, 2008 at 19:25 #152652He may be honest, but I do believe everything he does is in his own interest, and would hope they get rid of Tanya, she is so annoying.

March 19, 2008 at 19:25 #152653Dont forget that Mac went on CBB to raise money for racing charities
When he was on I was glued to the telly as he provided entertainment unlike the Jade Goody racism row.
He has also apeared in a Matt Lucas and David Walliam comedy show called Rock the Blind which was another version of Rock Profiles and you see him singing "Open Road" with Matt Lucas being Gary Barlow.

He also left show early Neil, I think he wanted to leave before he was evicted.

March 19, 2008 at 19:57 #152666Never ever forget that Mac is a media whore. What you see on screen is not the real man…
March 19, 2008 at 19:59 #152668Just to give a slightly different angle to what has already been said, I think you have to add to the equation that CH4 are currently in the midst of an important future funding negotiation, in many ways their future is at stake. The prize that is up for grabs is whether or not CH4 will become a serious competitor for the BBC public sector broadcasting funds. It is therefore a particularly bad time for CH4 to be promoting loose cannons such as Mac, having what are mostly dated, controversial and sexist views. Just my pennyworth!

The "proper, down to earth" Harrow School alumnus.
Right. Noted.

John McCririck’s whole C4 career has been predicated on the principle of being as controversial, objectionable and unloveable on-screen as he can, and he’s admitted as much on countless occasions. That’s behaviour that doesn’t strike as especially free of artifice.

Have you ever seen Al Murray’s Pub Landlord. If so, can I assume he would be a hero of yours?

Pint for the fella, fruit based drink for the lady?
March 20, 2008 at 07:19 #152745Barry Dennis,
Thanks mate for the offer to pay the Xs for me to attend a local track to meet you.
I do however have enough money to pay for my own expenses, but again thank you for your kind offer.Possibly make it to meet you at the first Brighton meeting.
I have never called you any childish names and if you read through you would probably agree with that.
All I have written is true.
You were for example called up before the Fontwell management to explain your verbally anti semetic remarks against other on course bookmakers.I could have called you inconsiderate following that televison programme about you when you drove through country lanes on you way home from the races after a losing day with your hand glued to the car horn getting rid of you anger. Pretty good for local residents and farm animals.
I could have called you an attention seeker following your idea to get topless girls working on your joint at Epsom.
I could have called you having egotism with your claims to be one of the top bookmakers.
