I’m a big fan of Fiddlerontheroof, and he’s my selection here. 10-1 at the moment, but I haven’t put my cash down yet. I’m just trying to envisage what price he’ll be on the day. I will no doubt have to bet him before Monday, as I can see him being a bit shorter then.

Corach Rambler is the other one I like but I’m not sure that the yard would want him winning this before Aintree, where I think that he has a massive chance

Fiddler will be like ripe banana for April , it’ll be a nice pipe opener for him

Corach Rambler is the obvious one here, but he’s on some mark, and I’m no convinced they’ll want to muck up his mark here.

Ramses De Teille has two great runs to his name this season, and though consistency has been a problem in recent years, he’s impossible to ignore here.

Didn’t see too much wrong with Omar Maretti last time, and he’s back to a nice mark. He’s from a yard who’ve landed this before and he makes plenty of appeal here. Holds an entry Monday though, so not one for betting right now.

Big fan of Cloudy Glen and he might just need this, but he’s a very interesting contender for Aintree, and I’ll be watching closely.

I don’t know how many more chances I can give Time To Get Up, but I still reckon there’s a race in him. Holds an entry in The Eider though, so not any Antepost appeal right now.

Notachance remains on a good mark too, and I thought he’d be a lot shorter here off the back of his Warwick run. Looks a big player.

The one who makes most appeal right now though is Small Present. If he’s there at the five day stage, I’ll bet him then probably. Just wary that they might have other targets, but he’s my #1 at the moment, just ahead of Omar Maretti

Edit – Small Present getting bet now, so took the 25’s

    Small Present 25’s EW

Edit – Added Time To Get Up here 33’s EW

I’m not the best at predicting these things, but I feel that 7-1 is quite short for Bristol De Mai. I’ll risk not betting him just now, and hope that he is still 7-1 at least next weekend

I’m just betting early here, although it makes sense to wait another 48 hours.

Notachance 16-1 win and Flouer 66-1 ew

Race revolves around the plans for Corach Rambler though

Notachance is my early bet here as well Spoon. 16-1 is a nice price

First Lord De Cuet is another horse that I quite like, but I see that he is entered in The Eider Chase as well, so Notachance for me

Time to get up @ 33’s

Seems to run well this time of year and quite surprised by that price.Quite well handicapped as well by the look of it.

The ground may be a slight concern, but I can’t abandon Snow Leopardess. She’s won at the track before, the trip should be perfect and she shaped very well over the cross country course at Cheltenham last time out, just being caught out by the trip turning for home. Three and a half miles off 3 pounds lower than her Becher Chase win; I’m happy to go in at a very backable price.

There are plenty of others to like in this; I hope it doesn’t end up cutting up due to ground concerns.

I backed Tim Pat on Wednesday, and much of my confidence came from hearing Kirkland say Haydock was good ground after watering and would likely stay that way given the forecast. Tim Pat is one of the few here who’ve been at their best on proper good ground. Anyway, it’s now good to soft and could soften more (good old Kirkland).

Tim Pat can handle any ground, but his best runs have been on good. Still, he’s young and improving and I will stick with him.

    Good luck

The Two Amigos only went up five pounds for winning the Welsh National. He could be in the mix here. Also had to add Bristol de Mai because of Haydock.

    The Two Amigos 14/1 EW
    Bristol de Mai 7/1

I’ve added Fortescue. Same mark as his Ascot win last season, conditions shouldn’t be an issue and the trip looks ideal.

Fortescue is my main bet of the day , in my accas , winning mark and he,s always looked a Nat horse , as back up Notachance won the Warwick classic and this should be right up his street to

I’m pleased to have not taken the 7-1 for Bristol De Mai, and have just taken the 9-1. I suppose that suggests he’s not particularly well fancied here, but I can’t desert him.

At 7-1, I’ve also taken Omar Maretti though he is another one who is coming back out in price
