Betfair – missing funds/ negative

Anyone else being effected by this? Im missing a substantial amount from my account, randomly, happened on friday, im now in a negative balance (having had a latge sum on friday) and there response is this:

Hi there, During the weekend, we have experienced some technical issues with our Exchange Antepost markets which have resulted in a negative balance for some customers. The issue seems to be the exposure. By the looks of it, the funds are stuck in the exposure which is why your available to bet balance is showing in minus. We are chasing this with the team, however, at this point, they haven’t provided a timeframe. They have stated that affected customers will be advised directly from their end via email as soon as possible.

Not affected myself but this sounds disturbing. What if someone needs to withdraw their money in a desperate situation?

Well, judging from the responses im getting from them, they dont even know how much i had in it now at this point and tbh i dont remember the exact number either, i only know approx the negative balance now keeps changing… i never had a negative balance the first few days of this, just 0, the first lady i spoke to “suggested i dont deposit” but that was as far as i got with them and still is other than generic messages like the above, this has been since friday like i said

Complained again and they zero’d my account

The woman on the chat tried to call it a “good will gesture”

Didn’t have anything to say when I pointed out it cant be a good will gesture since the problem was on their end

Have a whinge on the live chat they will give you a £10 free bet

Years ago I took them to the cleaners (sportsbook) as they didn’t change the in-play odds on the snooker and the player I was backing kept potting but his odds remained the same
I withdrew the money and came back a couple days later on minus funds
I laugh as the terms and conditions say its my risk to bet via the video which may be behind yet that didn’t count for them

I got revenge when they changed the odds for a game in the last minute after a goal and didn’t suspend yet the goal was miles offside and was bound to be ruled out. There was only a minute left the the correct result which was in theory nearer 1/100 went 80/1…

Very worrying I have to say. I have not been affected but if they don’t know whats happened who is to say it won’t happen again.
