First Street is plummeting down the weights for a reason, but he is my first bet at 20-1

I’m still sulking that Jeriko Du Reponet isn’t eligible to be entered in this and run off his OR of 132.

The rest of the field would still have been in Thatcham as he crossed the line.

I’ve had a fair swing at Our Champ at 33s with Unibet.

I loved his Cheltenham run in October. He went up 11lbs for that which was lenient in my view. He was then turned out quickly, just a week later, when 5th at Ascot on much softer ground. He was 5th again next time when they changed tactics completely and held him up out the back. On his last run he was returned to more prominent tactics but they didn’t go too quickly. He was caught flat footed and swamped before staying on strongly again at the finish.

He’s now only 7lbs higher than his Cheltenham romp. I’d be fairly certain Freddie Gordon will be back in the saddle taking off another few pounds. Basically, I’ve found the winner :yahoo:

I see a mullins horse called ocastle des mottes is in the entries

Come from france and never raced in britain before

If he lines up it’ll be because they think the UK handicapper has got him wrong and he will be backed off the boards

Sort of one where some inside info would help you get one over on the bookies

He’ll either go off short priced fav or not run is my prediction

I’ll have my usual bet on Faivoir if he goes, though haven’t decided whether it’ll be Antepost or not.

The other three I like along with Faivoir at 33’s are

    Doddiethegreat 16’s
    Metier 25’s
    Norman Fletcher 33’s

Two from that four hopefully, and hopefully no bet till five day stage at the earliest, but I’ll see how it goes

Conyers Hill from the Paul Nolan yard is a horse that I like. I think that he can add to his tally again this season. If no entry at the DRF, then I will have an ante-post on him

I saw this somewhere else, that Calico is owned by the same chap of Jay Jay Reilly who won the Lanzarote for Skelton. Had been chasing, lower hurdles mark. Same story for Calico. Same story as last years Betfair winner Aucunrisque. Very interesting I thought.

Tin Man, you’ve convinced me to add Calico to my Our Champ bet. I like that angle :good:

Tinman, I love that angle on Calico, and even if it doesn’t bear fruit, I will definitely take heed and bet him if he lines up

At a very big price though is Itto Ditto, and that’s the first ap bet at 33-1

A weird anomaly I’ve noticed with the weights for this is that Ocastle Des Mottes is rated 6lbs higher in Ireland than he is over here even though he’s not run since June, he’s got an entry in a 0-150 Listed Handicap at DRF on Sunday but surely they’ll come here instead if he’s rated lower. And considering what the UK handicapper normally does to Irish horses over hurdles in particular he has to be very interesting.

I was originally looking because poor old First Street got shoved up 5lbs for getting thrashed in the International Hurdle which makes life very hard for him at the festival in any handicap but he can run off his previous mark here and you’d imagine it’ll be all systems go for here now instead.

Im in for Aurigny Mill, cant see how our champ cant turn it around from Kempton.
But thats not the reason for my choice, the trainer is under appreciated and I think he has a nice horse here.

I’d be with Lookaway here but he is double declared so it’s a waiting game for me.
