Wow. That’s some performance from Cue Card. And Paddy’s saying he’s a Gold Cup horse.

Wow got that wrong big style as I didn’t think he would be able to do that to Conti on that ground, I like they way they rode him with more restraint and that will be vital for the King George and Gold Cup – Triple Crown must be on the agenda now.

Loved that. No need for an abundance of runners when you have two fantastic specimens battling it out.

But oh boy, Cue Card, Tikka bow son.

Great to see he really is the horse he looked to be
a couple of seasons back. He might have put my treble down,
but I’m delighted to see him so well, he is exciting to watch.

Joe, I expect you’re doing cartwheels at the moment :yahoo:

No way will Vautour beat this horse at Kempton. Mullins horse was screaming to go left handed today, a better horse than Ptit Zig would’ve beaten him. If Cue Card is in the same form he will take some stopping in the King George and the Gold Cup is no impossibility.

Didn’t back him, but was delighted to see him begin, at this sadly late stage, to realise his full potential. He was arguably even better today than when blitzing the Ryanair field.

He’ll be 10 soon, and had he not gone wrong in the 2013 KG, he’d have won that by a long way and very probably the Gold Cup in 2014. What a record this horse would have had if he’d avoided those breathing problems, which, i suspect now, have always been there at some level, perhaps explaining his head carriage – or, at least, some measure of it.

    He was magnificent today

What an impressive win. Cue Card seems a different horse this season. Be a great clash between him and Vautour in the King George and he must have a chance of the million pond bonus if he goes for it.
What a superb top chasing bunch we have this season. The Gold Cup could be a superb race in 2016

Looked very impressive today and well done to the Tizzards for getting him back to something like.

Are we all sure everything gave its true running though and it really was a performance to say he can complete the bonus treble? I’m not so sure…

He’s tried and failed 3 times to win a King George and this season is likely to come up against two of the best staying chasers for some time who are improving with every run…along with Vautour (not one I could fancy) but plenty still believe he’s the real deal…

As I say, great win today but still questionable to me the strength of that form when going on next to take on the new regime and rising stars of the staying division!

I cannot see why there is such a huge disparity in price bewteen the 2 for this weekends Betfair chase.
I thought Cue Card looked as good as ever at Wetherby and I cannot understand how Conti is fav.
    Joint favs I could understand.
Maybe I have missed something about Cue Card that Tizzard may have said but as soon as he confirms Cue Card as a definite runner then I think the 11/4 on offer is one of the bets of the year

Well done DROFFATS, I hope you filled your boots with the 11/4. I
love CUE CARD, and was delighted to see him win, but I have to be honest
and admit that I thought SC was a good thing.

That race was as good as I’ve seen CUE CARD, I’d love to see him in the
KING GEORGE, but at this time I think DON COSSACK looks a good thing, but
then again I thought SC was a good thing, so what do I know

Got it wrong here also. But after watching that you don’t mind losing money :good:

Sadly not I bottled out and backed CC at evens without. Still a good win though.
CC looks awesome this year and I hope that Don Cossack comes across because we will get a price on CC who looks like fulfiiling the champion I always thought he was.
It will take some horse to lower his colours in that form.

Zam, the only thing ‘wrong’ with the form, I think, is that SC is overrated, probably because the form was taken at face value when he beat CC in the 2013 KG, when CC went wrong between the last two. After that SC became Master Minded version 2 and has laboured under that since.

I agree with all that :good:

Cue Card has had all sorts of problems over the years; he had a growth spurt after his bumper year which made him a bit weak, and then a stress fracture. I do wonder if he’s finally grown into himself; I must admit to not expecting to see such a magnificent horse as the one I saw at Wetherby. I’m just glad it’s all [hopefully] come together at a time when Paddy[my favourite jockey] will reap the benefit after a few years in the doldrums. Of course, it could just be that I never weigh him down with my money [and intend never to do so for fear of jinxing him].
