LIT and BDM haven’t had a prep either. So depends what’s left in the tank at the end for all 3. CDO isn’t going to Cheltenham so his training regime may have been different this time as they don’t have to worry about giving him harder races early and being competitive in them. We will see.
November 16, 2020 at 21:36 #1510987I wouldn’t be having a bet in the race as it looks about right to me but if I was pushed if this ground gets soft towards heavy Bristol is the one to beat they won’t give Clan a hard race before Kempton and Lost In Translation is the one with the longest season ahead of him if all goes to plan. I still have stamina reservations over Lost In Translation but that would only be relevant if it gets very testing and Bristol makes it a good test.
November 17, 2020 at 17:46 #1511158Tin man he outstayed BDM in the race last year , I really don’t get where this not staying comes from
November 17, 2020 at 20:19 #1511169He didnt stay strongly in the 3m2f on an undulating track at Cheltenham
But just over 3 miles round a flat track like haydock suits him perfectly unless it gets absolutely bottomless and blunts that bit of natural speed he has
November 17, 2020 at 21:11 #1511172Clan may not run if it gets Heavy in which case you’ll have the same duel as last year.
November 17, 2020 at 22:17 #1511175It was bad ground last year and he comfortably outstayed BDM …at his favourite course , he stays fine
November 17, 2020 at 22:28 #1511178It was gd to soft last year looking at the racing post site
November 18, 2020 at 11:33 #1511251I’m a great Bristol de Mai fan and NTD can certainly get one prepared early. However, compared to last season when he was talking King George and Triple Crown for BDM it had been strangely quiet on the news front for this horse I can’t even see an entry for him on Boxing Day.
The whole story around Lost In Translation makes me want him to win this again and it’s not just that…he has the credentials to do it.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 21, 2020 at 12:00 #1511556See there,s plenty of money about for LIT , I took some more of the 14-1 about last night for the GC as I expect him to be shorter tonight
November 21, 2020 at 12:25 #1511565Would have loved to see Santini here too, but still a nice race. Got to go with Losintranslation here. Step 1 of the Triple Crown.
November 21, 2020 at 12:39 #1511568Interested to see how bellshill runs , I know the same connections have the Ayr Scotland grand national meeting in mind for Yorkhill , is the plan the same for Bellshill , like VTC I really rate Thomson as a trainer
November 21, 2020 at 14:16 #1511581Why would Nicholls run a horse in a G1 race and NOT give him a hard time, if he would have a chance to win it?
Can’t imagine the KG being the easier target for CDO, you just win whatever you can at G1 level or at any level at all in horse racing.
November 21, 2020 at 14:58 #1511595Has the ground handed it to BDM?
November 21, 2020 at 15:00 #1511596Bristol de Mai to regain his crown
November 21, 2020 at 15:08 #1511598Yes it did.
November 21, 2020 at 15:09 #1511599Well done BDM , his course and his ground , that’s was a hard enough race for clan in 2nd with the KG in mind
November 21, 2020 at 15:12 #1511600Bristol is the only horse who actually likes 3 miles round here on heavy. LiT really not liking it, CDO gave it a good bash but Bristol just cruising
He’s probably softened the other 2 up for the KG too.
