I had a go on this website yesterday. It is a penny auction site where you can bid for bets e.g. bid £4 for a £100 bet on Kauto Star winning the King George.
They will give you a few free bids without taking any financial details, so you can have a bit of fun and possibly win something without spending any money. Make sure you understand how penny auctions work before bidding though as they are a bit counter-intuitive.
It all seems rather complicated to me so I haven’t tried it with real money, but I thought forum readers might be interested to know of its existence. And as it is a start up some of the new player concessions might be valuable.
I have no connection with the company itself and am not making a recommendation. You could lose real money quite quickly if you put money in and don’t understand how it works. However, it is safe to practise with the initial free bids.
March 8, 2011 at 21:53 #343793Has anybody from TRF won anything on this yet? I haven’t and I find it a very frustrating experience, even though I haven’t spent any real money on it. But the deals are tantalising.
March 9, 2011 at 10:45 #343850I won a bid in the ‘return bids auction’ for Binocular to be placed in the Champion Hurdle. You are only allowed to win the bid refund auction once so after that I had a dabble with my 100 free bids which I had won 75 from a competition along with the 13 when signed up and was given more bids after a mix up on their part and needless to say all my bids have now gone, would not purchased any with my own money but enjoyed the bid refunds auction. If Binny comes in and I win £50 will withdraw the money and never go near betbidder again, apart from to use my superbids on the jackpot auction….

I would recommend using the auto bid at low prices in the bid refund auction because people bidding in singles might think they are wasting their bid if you might be keep coming back with an auto bid.
Good luck Kasp and let us know when you land one…..
