Can’t choose between these two – Davy Condon on Clarnazar (Christmas Festival ’06 at Limerick) & JT McNamara on Rith Dubh (Cheltenham Festival ’02)
Flat
Declan McDonogh on Maggie The Cat (Listowel last year)

cheltenham 09 mccoy for nh.
September 18, 2010 at 00:37 #318020Can’t say it’s the best run but it was an astute ride in a big race.

Dettori on Ramonti (who pulled his head off) with a very smart ride to keep Viva Pataca and Mick Kinane in a pocket and get first run to win the 2007 HK Cup.
September 18, 2010 at 00:53 #318021The other one I would say Run For Free in the Scottish National ridden by Mark Perrett, he got left miles behind at the start but was ridden patiently to pick off the field and win. He beat some great staying chasers that day, I think it was a golden age.
Seven, that’s a good shout, was going to mention that one myself.
unbelievable
got left at least 20 lengths at the start
made a bad mistake, nearly bought down twice, carried top weight and still won
we have a winner

September 18, 2010 at 13:22 #318098Jamie Spencer on Tiddlywinks in the Ayr Silver cup a few minutes ago. Not a great ride, but absolute Spencer comedy gold all the same. I wouldn’t be surprised if the horse turns out again some day soon, as he’d have had harder days lying down on hay.
September 18, 2010 at 14:15 #318105That Fallon ride on Forte Dei Marmi just now was very good. Incredibly cool, you get the feeling if he’d panicked he wouldn’t have got there. Vintage stuff.
September 24, 2010 at 13:12 #319086Lester on Royal Academy

With you 100% on this one, Monksfield … particularly when you bear in mind Lester was aged 55 at the time and had only resumed riding 10 days prior to this race following three years out of the game which saw him serve one year in prison for tax evasion along with suffering the ignomy of having his OBE stripped from him … simply an incredible jockey.
Never seen that before, think I was 2 at the time of this

Amazing ride!
Great commentary from GG too! - AuthorPosts
