I notice that Border Castle is running in the seller at Taunton tomorrow. A former winner of the Scottish Champion Hurdle at one time rated 152, and was still 145 earkier this year. Obviously his last 2 runs give the impression that he may not be in love with chasing, and perhaps the game generally.
It got me thinking though about which horse was the best ever to run in a seller ?
Any opinions ?November 24, 2010 at 20:54 #329689Dandys

I would have said The Tatling but he’s only run in claimers!
Great question though.
November 24, 2010 at 22:00 #329704I think Red Rum dead-heated for a two-year-old seller at Liverpool.
November 24, 2010 at 22:15 #329709Night Prospector ended up in sellers after winning the Temple. Red Lancer ended up winning a Chester Vase after winning a seller.

"being strangled in a seller" shirley.
Golden Miller warmed up for at least one of his Gold Cup wins in an Optional Selling Chase at Wolverhampton.

As modesty forbids, DJ, I’ll give an honourable mention to Joe Jo Star
November 24, 2010 at 23:29 #329726I’ll throw Marsh Warbler in, purely because hes 2lb higher than Jo Jo Star currently

You’re right- I was there that day, at the age of 8 and so my love affair with the horse began!

Joe Jo is in happy retirement now, so I don’t think he’ll be too fussed.
Good luck in winning a handicap off 139 Koo.
