Crusty, in case you didn’t find it, here’s the 1993 National coverage

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2jHwZ1JerY – the race

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoKUuDApqNs – post race. More fine work from Sir Peter and interview with Charlie Swan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3Zpe2rnu6Y – This one’s interesting – the Saturday night highlights including an interview with Bill Smith and others.

Perhaps the most professional and dignified commentary ever

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wtky_SUttZc

Peter O’Sullevan’s understated and slightly reticent calling of himself as owner is a joy to hear

Just another racecall Peter, great stuff

    Very true Drone.
You could tell though sometimes when he’d backed one

Sea Pigeon in the Chester Cup springs to mind, can’t find the commentary anywhere though :(

Really appreciate these links, Old Applejack. Thanks very much. Just watched them all. Fascinating stuff.
Makes you realise just what a great job Peter O’Sullevan, especially, did.
Brilliant work from him, including: "Officially, it really can’t possibly be a race with the starter’s flag still raised", "This is the most amazing scene here, with the crowd booing", "..and boos from the crowd as they jump the water", "They can’t believe it. They’re going on", "This is one of the greatest disasters in the history of the National".
John Hanmer chips in with: "I don’t know why they’re going on."
Jim McGrath says: "This absolute farce continues".
Great memories and a reminder of what a fantastic job the BBC has done in the Grand National over the years.
