I don’t know whether this race is allowed in here as it just a Monday Beginners Chase, but I think this a stronger race then the graded novice chases we had so far. Lulamba is the clear favourite, second favourite is Salver, but I would like to give Fingle Bridge a chance here.
Won a novice hurdle in January and later the second went on to win the handicap hurdle at the Aintree Festival. And in February he won the listed novice hurdle here. Beating Regent Stroll who finished second in a Grade 1 after, beating Julius des Pictons who won a Grade 1 after and in fourth was Alexei who we all saw winning the Greatwood Hurdly quite easily.
Fingle Bridge 8/1
November 16, 2025 at 20:21 #1744865Be an interesting race, strangely the At The Races website for the race states Lulamba’s trainer is in form!
The more I know the less I understand.

As per the rules for this sub forum.
This is a Class 3 race, so it should be fine.
November 16, 2025 at 20:26 #1744868I keep hearing that Lulamba is not Sir Gino
not many are.. I think he’s been ignored by many as he got beat at Cheltenham but he more than made up for it at Punchestown. I think he’ll dominate this division in England but won’t see which way Kopek des Bordes goes if he ends up going the Arkle routeCharles Darwin to conquer the World
November 16, 2025 at 20:28 #1744870Pity we can’t do the ante post straight forecast, Nathan.
Arkle Chase: Kopek Des Bordes to beat Lulamba.
November 16, 2025 at 20:29 #1744871They’ll probably let you back it now (AP Rules apply)
but you’re getting the days SP…
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
November 16, 2025 at 21:53 #1744874I’ll reverse Fingle Bridge in a FC with Salver and Tripoli Flyer, IF Lulamba stays around 4/9 or 2/5.
Otherwise it will be Fingle Bridge WIN only.November 17, 2025 at 12:11 #1744923Hope Lulamba is really good but that’s a crazy price, especially as Henderson’s horses are not really stripping fit and this looks about as good a novice chase as we have had so far.
I really liked Salver as a hurdler, if he can jump he’ll be dangerous, Moore’s in good form. 13/2 cracking price.
November 17, 2025 at 14:02 #1744933Got 10/1 about Fingle Bridge.
November 17, 2025 at 14:56 #1744944Satisfactory enough from Lulamba, although the curse of the low sun struck again.
November 17, 2025 at 15:14 #1744948Well, the horse was fit. The question is how good is he at jumping open ditches in a fast run race during the months of March to May? I guess we’ll find out during that period.
November 17, 2025 at 15:38 #1744951A question in my mind is where does he go at Cheltenham? If the 2m 4f Grade 1 Novice Chase still existed, I am sure that is where Henderson would run him.
As it stands, I can’t see connections running him in the Brown Advisory. But does he have the pace to live with Kopek Des Bordes in an Arkle?
November 17, 2025 at 15:55 #1744953Kopek looks an absolute brute. King Kong couldn’t have held him. He jumps much better than I thought he would; watching him over hurdles I thought he might be a horror show over fences but once he got his own way and dragged Townend to the front, he looked quite happy. Not that it matters- if he gets one wrong he’d probably cheerfully bulldoze through it or just kick it over the rails and carry on. Makes El Fabiolo look feeble and dainty.
November 17, 2025 at 15:56 #1744954Kopek Des Bordes pulled hard throughout the race which was over 2m1f and after the race Townend couldn’t pull him up. I’m quite sure he gets 2m4f at this stage of his career. I don’t think KDB’s connections would change their plan which means that both of them should run in the Arkle.
Oh, is Sir Gino with just one chase run under his belt still a novice?
November 17, 2025 at 16:17 #1744955Sir Gino isn’t a novice ExRubyLight.
November 17, 2025 at 16:47 #1744958They both won well but I thought KDB was the more impressive of the two. Yes, he is a bit of a tearaway but I thought he settled well enough once Townend decided to let him stride on and he started to jump more fluently as well.
He has pace to burn and it is going to take a good one to match strides with him.
November 17, 2025 at 23:23 #1744993Where Nicky Henderson often gets accused of wrapping his horses up in cotton wool, it’s interesting that he certainly hasn’t hung about in sending Sir Gino and Lulamba chasing.
