Having beaten them eight-nil at theirs in the league and five nil at home in the Hampshire Cup, you’d have to think the 8/11 Basingstoke to complete the hat-trick in this Boxing Day epic at The Camrose tomorrow is fair.

Can’t help but bring back memories of 89/90 when Liverpool put Palace to the sword 9-0 at Anfield and then 2-0 away before an FA Cup semi final showdown at Villa Park. I’m glad to say I was too young to bet back then and I’m pretty sure the odds would have been a lot shorter than 8/11 but the game ended in a draw at 90 mins before Palace took the match in extra time….
