Hi there – this thread is where the ‘Barry’s Quicky’ systems competition will be monitored. As you probably know ‘Barry’s Quicky’ is a competition designed to test Twenty ‘One Minute Systems’ that have been devised by members of the Racing Forum with the pre-recquisite that a selection must be found in any given race using the system in under one minute.
The comp is a bit of fun (Artemis!) and should be good sport for the month during which it runs. After two weeks the leading 5 entries will go forward to a second two weeks after which the champion ‘One Minute Tipster’ will be crowned.
Many thanks to Barry Dennis who has very kindly agreed to sponsor the competition to the tune of £100 which will be given to the winner. Also thanks to Nick Hatton, Letsgetracing and Non Vintage who have all agreed to help me with the monitoring of each of the systems.
As Barry has already said – LET’S ROLL!
February 4, 2005 at 21:12 #58321Today’s selections from the cormack15 group –
Dave Jay
Wetherby 2.30 Ollie Magern
Dave – I’ll be using RP forecast prices and forecast going for the purposes of the comp. Also is it only 1 selection across all meetings or 1 per meeting?
CP Gagie
Sandown 1.40 Oneway
Wetherby 3.05 Mr. McGoldrick
Daylight
Lingfield 12.50 Quantum Leap
Sandown 1.10 Obay
Sandown 1.40 Bleu Superbe
Non Vintage
All at Lingfield
1.55 Treasure Cay
2.25 Terminate
3.00 Western Roots
3.35 Fiddler’s Creek
Ace
Sandown 3.25 Fountain Hill
Ace – is my rationale correct – middle page of RP first race with seven runners plus = 3.25 Sandown. Horse 7 = Attorney General – his price 13/2. Add together 13+2 = 15 – no horse 15 so add 1+5= 6 which leads us to Fountain Hill. Is this correct?

February 5, 2005 at 01:51 #58325Corm .. I runner per day. If joint lowest price fewest runners, if joint fewest runners highest prize money, if joint highest prize money nearest the top of the card, if joint highest the top of the card, most tipped in RP.
 .. I could go on ..
So, is that a bet or a lay ??
February 5, 2005 at 03:28 #58326Wouldn’t dare interfere with an official comp Dave, but RP say Gd-Sft so presumably a back – yes?
February 5, 2005 at 08:21 #58327My thinking exactly Snowman – Dave It is a back.
February 5, 2005 at 09:38 #58328Just a quickie but BOBBY CHARLES (Ling 3.00) doesn`t qualify in mine with Eijaaz in the race.
February 5, 2005 at 10:56 #58329Just thought i would give it a go using the LRF System.
If should win the comp i would like to donate £ 50.00 cancer reaserch, plus the other £ 50.00 to go to the injured jockeys fund. if thats o.k.:)
SANDOWN 1.10 un- named favourite.
Daz.:cheesy:
February 5, 2005 at 12:06 #58330Andy – I’ll pass on your point to Letsgetracing and it will be fixed.
February 5, 2005 at 12:09 #58331Darrell – unfortunately entries to the competition were limited to 20 and the places were filled some time ago. Never mind – I’d be interested to hear how your system gets on and perhaps if we do the competition again you can have a go then.
Sorry!
(Edited by cormack15 at 12:47 pm on Feb. 5, 2005)
February 5, 2005 at 12:16 #58332My selection is fine and you seem to have worked out the complexities of the system corm .. if I win btw, I doubt if there will be any cash exchanging hands. If there is, I will be keeping all of it …
February 5, 2005 at 12:40 #58333cormack 15 no not quiet correct but you still came up with correct horse
horse 7 13/2 = 1+3+2 =6
February 5, 2005 at 12:49 #58334That was a stroke of luck Ace. I think i have it now!

Could Aston please clarify what is meant by ‘highest-rated’ in his system, as this is not clear and means I can’t work out his runners.
