I didn’t see the 3.10 Fontwell yesterday – and certainly don’t want to see a replay – but a friend says the horse suffered a terrible injury after the first, so I assume must have been put to sleep……

First it was Plumpton, but can’t find any horse put to sleep in the race according to Racing Post however what your friend might be referring to was Bard Of Brittany was pulled up after 1st, quickly lost action and dismounted. This doesn’t necessarily suggest a live threatening injury.

Yes, got my southern courses mixed up. It didn’t sound good but hopefully it had a happy ending.

Racing Post race report says he appeared to be sound again shortly after pulling up, so fingers crossed.
