That gives an interesting pictures, and the bookies will rely on most people never catching on.
If, instead of being intent on (mistaken) opinion-forming, when the opportunities arise, by shortening the price of such favourites, they based their prices only the overwhelming statistics, how much poorer they would be. Perhaps unviable. (Mustn’t mention "value" though).
The press seem to be complicit, although maybe they would have been on a hiding to nothing, advising against such a horse, so apparently very well favoured as it was by the weights.
June 26, 2008 at 17:01 #170241of course the price of bankable was silly and i thought that before the race and i would not back a horse at that price in 30 runner handicap anywaybut i think you will not see him run on firm ground again, and when it gets easy ground you will see amuch better horse

The horse acts fine on fast ground, as he has proved twice already, it’s just that ground at Ascot made the mile an insufficient test for him. Had the ground been appreciably slower, it’s reasonably certain that he would have won.
It’s notable that he has 3 pattern entries for the near future, all at distances in excess of Im.June 26, 2008 at 20:52 #170267if memory serves rightly bankables win on ground not as fast as ascot was a much lower grade race and the rest of his wins were on easy ground, but time will tell
