I think he,ll be OK FF , I’m more worried he,ll trip over a hurdle
March 13, 2022 at 05:14 #1586761The last 16 winners were aged 5 or 6 so will a more unexposed one like Journey With Me chin Sir Gerhard? ;o)
March 13, 2022 at 07:03 #1586762Journey With Me could start now and still wouldn’t win. He’s slower than me!
March 13, 2022 at 07:17 #1586765Tbf he didnt look at it in a properly run hurdle first time. The second race was more like a 1 mile 6 race as they went so slow early on. And since the trainer has trained Bob Olinger to win, one would imagine he will know what is required of a horse to be competitive in this. If he is really too slow the Albert Bartlett is still an option.
March 13, 2022 at 07:45 #1586770Kilcruit didn’t stay (and was without the tongue tie) and Minella Crooner’s jumping was all over the place in that first race; the second one was the quintessential egg and spoon race, yet he still struggled.
He’s vastly overrated on account of his connections; everyone expects him to be Bob Olinger II but, at the risk of having to eat a lot of humble pie later on in his career, he just looks like a slow old boat to me.
March 13, 2022 at 08:05 #1586777Dunno about you eating a lot of humble pie later on his career, it may be as early as next week. Lol
March 13, 2022 at 08:09 #1586778He,ll need a sail to beat SG , he hasnt the form in the book to beat him ….he barely beat Daly tiger ….who’s been stuffed out of sight since
March 13, 2022 at 08:26 #1586784It’s not always necessary to have form in the book to win a novice/juvenile race at the Festival.
And i have already explained his second run. This race won’t be run anything like that one.
SG deserves to be favourite but at the same time if JWM won it were he to run, it wouldn’t surprise me.
March 13, 2022 at 10:45 #1586807Agreed glad, JWM is a boat, wouldnt touch
March 16, 2022 at 11:58 #1587503Bar the fav the race looks a bit underwhelming (for now, but they might make decent chasers) but you never know. I cashed out my Whatdeawant win bet and re backed him each way, and put Sir Gerhard in a double with Facile Vega for a bit of interest.
March 16, 2022 at 12:52 #1587526Happy to just watch Sir Gerhard at 8/11. Every horse has their price. He is the same price as Honeysuckle yesterday and she was a cast iron certainty.
March 16, 2022 at 12:59 #1587529Sir Gerhard 11-2 ew and Journey With Me 18-1 ew.
March 16, 2022 at 13:08 #1587533Sir Gerhard I’d certainly want some of that to be backing him today.
No seven year old winners in recent sight and two in fifty years.
Records are there to be broken but that looks a firm one. I’d be delighted if he won but something aged five or six is lurking in there…..March 16, 2022 at 13:09 #1587534Sir Gerhard might struggle with the trip if the rain has gotten into the ground.
Journey with me’s chances have taken a boost with this weather.March 16, 2022 at 13:11 #1587535I Am Maximus e/w – Betfair free bet. Also added Stage Star, but the ground may test him i reck.
March 16, 2022 at 13:23 #1587543Hey wilts snap!!
