Kilcruit to come back to 2 miles and Sir Gerhard for the Ballymore is what i would do. Sir Gerhard has a better chance in the Ballymore than the Supreme taking on Jonbon imo

At this stage what part of hurdle form entitles Kilcruit to take the place of any other winning novice.

I’ve bet two for this, but I agree about the real danger that Sir Gerhard brings. I’ve taken Journey With Me 7-1, and Dysart Dynamo 9-1

Taken a fairly strong view today on ginto and have backed accordingly, 20/1+ still available for now, have added in hollow games @33/1 to cover my stake, id have ginto a fair way clear of anything so far, im really keen on the eric bloodaxe formline.

Dont like journey with me, the formline with kilcruit is iffy, somethings not clicking with kilcruit, doesnt look a trip issue, just looks an issue in general thus far, sir gerhard/dysart dynamo/constitution hill/mighty potter all likely to goto the supreme but none of them would worry me at this point over thos trip, blazing khal would worry me slightly but albert bartlett could be more his race, looks to want to a strong 3m, gerri colombe another at a nice price, IMO this looks like elliotts race

Wide open race and haven’t had a bet yet but I think I AM MAXIMUS is a bet here at 16/1 (I’m boosting it to 18/1 with betfair)

Hendo clearly has an above average crop of hurdlers this year even for his own very high standards. Seems to have plenty of ammo for the supreme and clearly they are trying to make a ballymore out of I am maximus hence it’s New Year’s Day entry.

Maximus was always mentioned in the same breathe as all their top novices at the start of the season and I don’t think he’s done much wrong really. Very novicey and green on debut and turns out was beaten by a decent one. And then more professional next time out and looks crying out for a trip so this could be ideal. He could be 5/1 after tomorrow’s race

I am maximus still so immature. Won’t be doing much this season anyway. Sweated pre race, jumped poorly and his action is strange to say the least. Has loads to work on. Although would say it is a credit to him he still nearly won.

Well my bets in this are going fabulously. Grangeclare West hasn’t seen the light of day so presumably had an injury and bumper or nothing now, probably, and Hob House is a maniac.

Still, nothing daunted I’ve thrown another fiver away on the sponsor-owned Whatdeawant at 18/1.

Every man and his dog seems to really like Ginto but it’s interesting that Whatdeawant, who beat Ginto in a bumper, has also usurped him in the betting for the Lawlor’s of Naas later today. That race should provide plenty of clues for the Ballymore. I think Hollow Games will win personally.

My view at the moment is that Journey With Me is the most likely winner. His win the other day can be marked up on account of the current stable form. He showed he has pace as well as endless stamina and HDB always has them primed for Spring festivals but they often disappoint at Christmas. Dangers will come from Willie but who will he run? Impossible to tell at this stage. Hendo still has Russian Ruler and Firestep to come who are talking horses in a season where he has really been handed a cracking batch of novice hurdlers.

I’d say it’s hard to be sure JWM will show up here which is the problem.

Henry’s record in December is actually pretty good so i wouldn’t be sure he often disappoints over Christmas. Maybe this year he’s been quieter.

The race JWM, HDB has a great record in the race, 15141511.

Tbf i didn’t look it up and may have been thinking of previous Dublin Racing Festivals in Feb. Either way, JWM ran a who lot better than most of the yard’s recent runners.

I do but more for the Albert Bartlett, so won’t mind if he runs well and don’t win today. Thought I would cover him for this for now just in case he does.

Having just watched the Lawlors, it reinforced my view that Ginto would probably win the Albert Bartlett. He’s a big specimen that just gallops. In the Ballymore he’d be a player amongst a few others on the day i would say.

Why would you want to run him in the AB when hes just won the best grade 1 prep race for this in recent years, the AB is a minefield and can sometimes take alot out of a classier type, hence why the supreme & the ballymore are more frequently used as a stepping stone for the better ones, ill be stunned if he goes AB, he wins this, easily.

Agreed Mike. Not sure he’d be one i’d be with for this race, but hopefully now he comes here.

Dysart Dynamo might just be WPMs for this now as well given his runners performance there.

Hollow Games> AB also now looking more likely…

Not bad for my antes if this plays out.

A proper pace and him stalking the pace rather than doing the donkey work, he could still win as he will be staying on up the hill. I’m just a fraction less confident than ham lol

    ” he wins this, easily.”

Ham, nothing against bold statements, but given we haven’t even seen all of the WPM battalion, and some have only been out in maiden company, i think that’s a ridiculous statement. How can you judge those horses without any evidence or very little evidence?

Envoi and Bob are at a different level to Ginto right now i’d say.

Yeah Mike he’ll be galloping at the finish no doubt, just don’t think the Lawlor’s was a great race today.

    Who havent we seen?

“Envoi and bob are at a different level” to ginto is as bold a statement as me saying ginto wins this easily? What evidence do you have that ginto isnt going to be better than envoi? Hes won that as easily as envoi did, in a better field… whats your basis for saying ginto hasnt?

My taking on that race is that he doesnt want another 4 furlongs and has won that fairly comfortably, tracking the pace at chletenham, i doubt theres anything going to cope with that power after the last to the line, who beats him? And why?

I always take bold stances jack, i dont put ££ on it unless i have that firm of a view, so dont take offence, im wrong often lol kilcruit being a good recent example

Maybe elliott will come out and say hes going AB, i personally couldnt see why though, seems madness to think that imo..
